The Ultimate Fat Burning Smoothie Recipe.

In the battle to stay fit and lean we developed this smoothie recipe to provide not only top level nutrition but to also elevate metabolic rate to prime ourselves with energy to work out and to enjoy extended fat burning post workout. We consume a large glass pre and post workout for maximum benefits.

You will need: your juicer, your blender and the following ingredients, this gives one large portion of juice, you can multiply the amounts to make any number of servings.

A large handful of leafy greens, kale or spinach work well.
4 whole carrots.
A handful of blue berries.
1 or 2 hot peppers depending on your tastes you can use Jalapeño, habanero, cayenne pepper or you can even sprinkle in mixed ground peppers that you can buy from the spice rack in any supermarket.
One large or two regular apples.
One stem of broccoli.
Some ground cinnamon.
Half a lemon.
some ice.
spirulina powder or other dried greens complex.

Instructions: juice the leafy greens, carrots, apple, broccoli stem and peppers (if you have whole peppers not ground or dried)

Pour that juice into the blender jug and add the blue berries then add the lemon juice, we squash the lemon juice out on a fork or handheld citrus juicer. Add the berries, a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, a scoop of spirulina powder and the ice and blend!

The power of this smoothie is amazing, the base of carrot, apple and leafy greens give you fibre, broad spectrum nutrients, hydration and high mineral content, in short ENERGY, the berries blended whole give great fibre content making that energy boost last.

The broccoli stem and pepper gently raise metabolism increasing the potential for burning fat post workout while cinnamon is known to help regulate blood sugar levels by increasing sensitivity to insulin. By adding cinnamon to the smoothie any post workout ‘shakes’ or ‘crashes’ should be kept to a minimum.

Spirulina powder tops up the amino acid level to help repair used muscles post workout.

The lemon is there to balance out the powerful taste of the greens and make this mix taste great!

We recommend doubling the ingredient levels so you can enjoy this smoothie as a pre and post workout booster and to keep that metabolism elevated for longer.
