I created this account last year for my close friend and companion Martin. While the world of computers mystified him he had a love of history and was interested in the opportunity to write about one of his favorite subjects and find others interested in European History but he never found the time.
Today I thought there was no better way to leave this account than with a short obituary and a letter that will reside on the block chain. Any SBD this post generates will be donated to Lillian to help with travel expenses for her and her family.

Martin passed peacefully on November 3rd with his friend & companion Patricia by his side while surrounded by friends and family after a recent battle with pneumonia. He is survived by the daughter of his heart Lillian, her husband Steve and their 4 children; Aunt Ruth; numerous cousins; and too many friends to count.
Dear Martin,
There is never enough time is there? Not to do all things we want to or say all the things we want to say.
We made plans. Plans to fly to Boston in the summer and drive to Maine. Plans to fix the old MG and take it out for a drive. There are stacks of books in the guest bedroom waiting for the floor to ceiling shelves we were going to build in the outer den this winter.
As I sit here writing this I'm expecting you to pop into my office as you tend to do when I'm in the middle of writing a post to ask me if your shirt matches your pants, to tell me about the new books you bought, how you spent too much on clothes you though you needed but didn't, talk about your students, or tell me which friends you visited on your long walk with Zoee today. I'll miss the hours we spent talking about everything, anything, and sometimes nothing at all really.
I will cherish the memories of the time we've shared; the love and support we gave each other through good times and bad; and that you shared with me the daughter of your heart and her family.
Rest in peace my friend. I miss you already.
Patricia
