We discovered huge art treasures today!
The first 3 photos are of a large sculpture in the "Rising Masculinity" group on the art farm.
An invitation that I was so glad that we accepted.
This is the art farm of Dylan Lewis and as you will see here, the man is a master sculptor.
Dylan converted an unused flat piece of farmland into an artists paradise.
We only had 2 hours to spare, but this beautiful place needs many more hours to appreciate all the works placed into designated groups across the farm.
Join us on our walk!
This Lady pointed us on the way!
A part of the "Forbidden forms" group.
Also in the "Forbidden forms" group!
Too beautiful not to include here!
Part of the "Rising masculinity" group!
Just to give you an idea about the size of the farm!
Part of the "Wild Symbols" group!
Also in the "Wild Symbols" group!
A part of the "Beauty in brokenness" group!
Finally my favorite is also in the "Wild Symbols" group. Beautiful isn't it?
Just to tell you that I took a heap of photos during the 2 hours that we spent here and I only selected a few to show you. I have no urge to place 20 or 50 photos here and will rather place more photos in separate posts to titillate your senses.
Now many are going to ask me for more information about this place and the artist's great history. You will also want to see how all of this came about.
So what you do is that you visit his website to read some amazing stories!
Note: All photos are my own and unedited except for cropping for uploading purposes.
Thank you for visiting @papilloncharity

I not only love his art and style but how they are spread around the farm, that must have been such a cool experience
You have to read this guy's story JJ.
This place evolved over the years and as the guy developed new artworks he placed them in designated groups all over the place.
Of course with nature as the base it is a wonderland.
I so wish that we could take you guys there for a picnic.
Blessings!
I did read the about part of his website very interesting
And even if I cant visit there in person I can virtually through your post :)
Well, the answer is simple as far as I am concerned JJ.
I will continue to tickle your photography sub conscious with luring pictures until you become absolutely desperate to get a ticket to come and visit us hahaha.
Blessings.
Well I look forward to your posts and being lured LOL
Hahaha, today I will show you some strawberry farm art.
Unexpected art my friend.
Blessings!
I just saw that post what a cool place and I loved that art ;)
Wow! Your favourite is my favourite too! :)
Hi stranger, good to see you and I suppose that you can say the same.
We are of the same blood that's why we both like the same thing hahaha
Blessings!
Love the bent over sculpture

Thank you my friend.

the "Wild Symbols" group is my favorite too! The statue is amazing. There is balance and grace!)
It was so amazing to visit this place my friend.
The artist placed the full story of mankind's primitive origins to the taming of development into mankind's current condition.
Blessings and thank you!
Incredible sculptures and how wonderful that he has used an entire farm to display them! I will be looking forward to seeing more of your photos!
Absolutely stunning. Thank you for taking us along with you!
I enjoyed the forbidden forms pieces specifically.
He is a very talented artist!
Thank you and glad that came along with us my friend.
Each group has many sculptures, but I did not have the time to get to all of them.
The plan is now to go back there and to do each group individually.
There's 11 groups and I want to do 3 or four groups at a time.
Then of course there are also fabulous nature shots and sculptures of cats and birds. A veritable photographers paradise.
Oh! And of course a painting gallery.
Blessings!
Now that's what to do with a huge tract of land! That's incredible! It amazes me the work's of art that people can build when they put their minds to it. Absolutely stunning.
So right my friend and he is indeed a man of many of many talents.
Most people would try to farm an empty tract of land, but this guy draws hundreds of tourists to visit the place.
Blessings!
Oh that is a marvelous art find! To find such beautiful sculptures of such magnitude, enhanced by the beautiful natural setting!
Thanks so much for sharing this - beautiful to see - Dylan Lewis is truly a master sculpture!
Thank you my friend.
We will certainly be going back there, as the place is so peaceful and the nature is astounding. I did not have the time to get to everything, but was lucky enough to get a heap of shots to post in the next while.
Blessings!
That looks like an amazing landscape to be inspired to create more art. Wonderful photos.
Thank you and oh, if only you could see that landscape my friend.
The power of the mountains enhances the beauty of the sculptures.
Then of course there is a river flowing through the farm with pools and ponds all over the place.
Blessings and thank you!
Wow what a fabulous place
Thank you my friend and a fabulous place indeed.
So great to view a talented person's life work and journey.
Blessings!
Oh wow the artworks are amazing. It is also nice to see the artworks not being vandalized. Here in our country some people just want to destroy beautiful things. One example is at our local park. They put up some nice attractions like dinosaurs and different sorts of animal statues. Last time I visited the dinosaur lost a horn, the gorilla got a big hole. Well enough said.
Thank you and this place is under 24 hours armed watch my friend.
Everything in the cities are either stolen or destroyed.
Millions have been lost due to stolen manhole covers in the streets anything metal disappears very fast.
What beats me is that they don't clamp down on the metal exporters.
A sad state indeed.
Blessings!
incredible sculpture and so beautiful, it's true that one sculpture was your favourite is also my favourite. I love how the sculpture tried to imitate an animal jumping into circle.

Thank you and the fluid movement of the Leopard's attack on the buck is certainly shown in a beautiful streamlined action.
You have good taste in art my friend.
Blessings!
Great place to visit here man and fascinating sculptures! What material are they made from?

Bronze @nickyhavey - it's a fantastic setting. Not far from us.
I suspected bronze, nice and easy metal to form 🤓

This guy does amazing work. I had heard of him, but not for a while. Lovely setting for his work.
Thank you and we are looking forward to meeting him Lady Fiona.
His life story is displayed on that farm and although we have thus far visited the other art farms around here, this one certainly stands out out.
Blessings!

hello i love them
What a good idea, I was impressed by the muscular man with the mountains in the background, very well coupled.
The male cabrio is also interesting with its horns and figure of man.
but the one I like the most is the deer jumping free
I would love to see it and I believe you with saying that two hours are not enough
Happy day
Thank you and so glad that you enjoyed the post my friend.
This artist was seriously blessed with great talents.
I also love the fluid movement of the Leopard hunting the buck.
We will be going back there to see more one of these days.
Blessings!

Hi @cheese4ead
Thank you for the visit and it was indeed a great experience at this place in the lee of the mountains. The man is a master artist and his works are stunning. You are correct as the setting is ideal for his works.
Glad that you liked it.

These are wonderful sculptures, Sir Stephen. What a wonderful outing to experience nature and these wonderful statues.
The last one is fantastic. Looking forward to more.
Blessings!
Thank you Lady Jo.
It will be my pleasure to share more post about his works, but I think it best to intersperse the posts with other wonders that we visit.
Today for instance it will be a post about some unusual art at a strawberry farm.
Blessings!
Oh my goodness @papilloncharity!!!!!! This is unbelievable, the artistry both rugged but yet beautiful. Set against the mountains, wow! I am speechless, what a treat you found :) Blessings my friend, thanks for sharing.
Wow! I think that you really liked the raw power displayed in this post Mrs. Bird and the mountain backdrop seems to accentuate the art works.
It was indeed a great experience and I will share some more about the place soon. Of course we will also visit there again.
Glad that you enjoyed the post my friend.
Blessings!
Stellenbosch is such a pretty region, to find art like this is a hidden gem Stephen.
Excellent photography, the "Wild Symbols" group would be something I would enjoy.
Thank you Lady Joan. 20 minutes from our house. A treasure indeed and I think that we have found an ideal picnic spot, as there is also much water there and I already got a few dragonflies.
I also love the "Wild Symbols" group.
Blessings!
Finding quiet places to enjoy nature and scenery is a bonus in life today Stephen.
Good morning and you are so right Lady Joan.
Reminds of of a book that I read 100 years ago "Far from the maddening crowds"

Glad that you enjoyed the post my friend.

Spectacular! I love the idea of "rising masculinity" to counter "toxic masculinity" and I am with you on your favorite - that last one makes me feel like I am flying. Love the first one too, especially from far away.
Thank you dear friend and that first one certainly dominates the landscape.
I like your version of "rising masculinity" versus "toxic masculinity", as the sculptures display a certain sense of freedom.
That last one of the leopard twisting in a perfect arc trying to catch the buck also speaks of a flight to freedom for the buck against the odds.
Blessings!

All of the statues are very impressive:) Are they made of clay?
Thank you Sir George, most of the ones that I saw was in bronze, but there might also have been a few in clay.
The guy is certainly very talented.
Blessings!
@papilloncharity - what a fantastic place to visit! Thanks for sharing this and the website as well. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of those photos as well. I think your favorite is my favorite as well, it has such grace and fluidity.
Thank you Lady Tammy, it was indeed an unforgettable experience and we will be back there for a picnic next to the lake some time.
I will also share some more about the place in due time.
That last one speaks to me about a perfect flight to freedom.
Blessings!

This is really awesome. I've got to go find out how he does this. Very creative.
Thank you sir.
It is a lady owner and you can see that she loves art and strawberries Lol.

Thank you my dear and kind friend.
The farm owner is a lady and she obviously do things a bit different I would say. Maybe now scarecrows all over the area will be turned into art symbols hahaha.
