Hi there Steemians
Here is a couple of great close up photos of the indigenous African Thorn Tree
For some reason this tree is planted into my
subconscious. Not in the sense of it influencing my emotions and thoughts but in the sense of it being a traditional fire wood for us South Africans. Now I'm not entirely sure if I'm the only Saffer that has a unspoken of bond with the particular tree.
But it definitely has some connections to my memories of my childhood.
From my father making a fire for the braai on a Friday night... To me running in the field and stepping into one of those dreaded long thorns. And getting them out was one tough mission.
Oh my those were the days. Living young, wild and free with no worries of anything.
We also use them to protect the gardens at home by placing them in between the plants so that the dogs won't mess up the garden. It works fantasticly.
I have to mention. It makes for the best sunset photos Imagenable. If you can get that perfect angle you can almost get famous with it.

Looks wicked! (both in the bad and good way.) Strangely, I think I've seen one of these before, here in the US. (The Portland/Vancouver area.)

Beautiful tree, thanks for sharing. Looks a lot like the chilean "espino":
It looks like the same family😱 the leaves are a little bit different... And thicker thorns... Wow thanks for sharing this
