You feel envy and have a strong desire to travel especially when you saw beautiful travel photos on social media. You always have the urge to travel but you don't feel confident to make your first step. You always give yourself excuses like I have no money to travel, you're afraid to travel without a companion, it's not the right timing or blaming on too much responsibility that laid on your shoulder at work. For whatever reasons you mentioned, it should not be the factors that restrain you from realizing your dream. Everything starts with your mental, if you have the correct mindset, nothing is ever impossible. A good mindset helps you to thrive, to be successful and to discover the inner potential that lies in you.
Thus, if you're following me for quite a while now, you'll realize that I tried my best to provide tips and tricks to ease your travel an easy place. But it's always depending on you to make the first step, to make your dream come true. So, here are the mentalities you need in order for you to kick-start your travel adventures!
1. Stop Whining That You Don't Have Money To Travel
Starting from the basic, money is the source for everything. Oh..did I just said money is everything?
Opps, let me correct my sentence. Money is not everything but everything needs money! True enough, you won't be able to travel without any money with you. But, it's also true that you don't need a million bucks in your bank to start traveling. Traveling is all about your mindset, you set your goals, and drive towards your goal. The first step you need to do to yourself is to stop complaining that you don't have money to travel, instead start reflecting where your money has gone to every time after getting your salary from work.
Set a fixed amount of money for your travel even if it's just a little. This way you can keep on track with your goal and it's definitely no more excuse for you to wonder where your money went. Even though you did that, persistent and determination is the key to success. Don't stop saving even if it's taking quite some time for it. Always remember, slowly but surely!
Another thing! Stop buying things that you don't need. That's probably one of the reasons why your pockets are always empty. Often during the sales period, we buy like a fool without realizing whether we really need it. Truth is, the sales period is literally the silent killer to your wallet. So, think before you buy. Only purchase when you really need it.
2. Dreams Do Come True
Never in the world, I thought my dream of being a travel blogger will ever come true. Guess what, dreams do come true and I'm living my life, traveling the world and make a living out of it.
Don't stop dreaming, always be prepared to grab the opportunities. You'll never know what lies ahead of you, never knowing when the opportunities come and go. If you continue to dream, the possibilities and chances are there for you, if you stop, you're just left with nothing. However, don't expect that dreams come true without paying effort to make it happen. My grandma always told me that 'Money doesn't fall from the sky'. You'll only get it if you work for it.
So, start planning now, bits by bits and eventually, you'll make it there. Even though you can't make it to travel physically at first, but you can always immerse yourself in travel reading, travel vlogs and etc. Develop an interest, slowly make your first step to travel even if it's just within your country. Slowly, upgrades your travel game to a neighboring country, getting out of your comfort zone to experience and try new things. Over time, you'll realize that travel isn't that hard at all!
3. Be Brave & Confident
This is the mentality that everyone needs not just for traveling but also in life! Stop having that mindset of being afraid for everything. Take those difficulties as a challenge, train yourself to be resourceful and imaginative to overcome those difficulties that come in your way.
Don't let those media influences and news to stop you from traveling. Well, unless the country is having natural disasters or having the risk of spreading diseases. People who told you that the country is dirty, not safe to travel is not necessary to be true most of the time. It's mostly based on everyone's personal experience. It's not confirmed that those bad events that happened to them will be happening to you too, isn't it? Be brave to make your first step, and be affirmed on your decisions. Take their advice but don't take it as a hard way.
But, honestly speaking, I feel safer to put myself out to the world rather than being at home. The world is filled with amazing, kind and lovely people. Don't let those small portions of black sheep deceive your perception of this beautiful world. After traveling for a few years now, I realized that there are more kind people that you'll meet on the street, telling you where to go, helping you out with directions and putting a smile on your face rather than people who intentionally come to you with a crime.
4. Live With No Regrets
If you're those people who ponder a lot before making a decision, you seriously need to change that. I am not saying it's bad to looks into other factors before making a decision. What I mean is, you shouldn't think too much like to the moon and mars but instead focus on the fact that you only live once. We all know that no one in this whole wide world is going to live forever.
Travel while you're young is never just a saying but an aphorism that contains the truth. You wouldn't want to live with the life where you're full of regrets. Thinking why haven't you see the world while you can but to wait for the day that never comes. When you're young, you're stronger, more creative, have better stamina for the exotic travel experience. If you love skiing or hiking, don't wait, just go. Never drag your plans to the Tomorrowland! You want something, then go get it.
5. Be True To Yourself
Stop trying to let the society decide everything for you. Be true to yourself is what you really need! If you want to be a wanderer, just do it. Never doubt yourself for who you are even if the whole world disagrees with you. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and perceptions, you don't need to live with the way they want you to be. You are your own boss.
The world is so different from what we expected and you need to see it to believe it. Start now by setting up a mentality that you're unique the way you are and stop trying to be somebody else that the world expects you to be. If you don't like being a white collared worker with the 9-5 daily routine, then don't. You can live with whatever you do as long as you're passionate about it and you stay true to yourself that's what you really want in life.

Thanks Alvin! I really don't get the idea of downvoting people at random. They should use it wisely instead of abusing it :(
Stop buying things we dont need is so so true! I only realised i bought unnecessary things when i start clearing my room. I could have save so much if i stop buying and start saving for travels instead, bcos memories stay while things, well most of them end up in the garbage anyways 😭
I couldn't help but tell myself that as well. I've literally bought too many clothes but I sent it out to charity for good. But after traveling for quite awhile now, I realize how much I could save for travel if I use my money wisely :) Thanks for dropping by~
