Hi Hiveans, good morning !!!
Continued from the previous post...
Sometimes every animal has their own instincts, although in general the closeness of species with humans is very rare, except for animals such as dogs, cats, and some other house animals that become pets of every human.
As explained in the previous post, the closeness of locusts to humans makes us think twice, because locusts are very rarely close to humans. Thus it can be said that grasshoppers themselves are animals or species of insects that always avoid humans, let alone adopt them as pets. When people will approach or approach him then he will run away. This has become their behavior because grasshoppers are not close to humans.
Even so it is different from this one grasshopper, because there is a grasshopper who does not have his left foot has gotten close to humans, who knows what makes him comfortable with someone, you can see for yourself how comfortable he is perched on the hands of my son who has been with him for one week long.
At first, this grasshopper was domiciled in one of the kaffir lime trees that grew beside our house, when in the morning my oldest son found it, when he saw his leg was injured or did not have a left foot, then my child felt sorry for him, then he take it and bring it as a pet.
There were difficulties on the first day when this poor grasshopper was under my son's supervision, because he had a stressful behavior and didn't want to eat anything, so we were also confused about what food he had to give because he wasn't in his habitat, like a plant kaffir lime is the host's nest.
The second and third day, this grasshopper still has a strange atmosphere at the location of his new home, but entering the next day until seven days, his behavior has begun to change, he is familiar with his new atmosphere, but he does not eat much, like in his habitat, which he eats and like is leftovers from food children that are scattered on the floor that are or leftovers from children's snacks.
Seeing this grasshopper's condition like that, so I paid attention to them, and I persuaded my son to release the locust back to its original location or its host plant so that he could live naturally and do his usual activities in his daily life.
Because after all the name lives outside their habitat but more comfortable living in the wild. So today the poor grasshopper was released back to its original location, with a picture of the process of releasing it to the location of the kaffir lime plant as you can see in the picture here.
Thus ... the story of the poor locust does not have its left foot now it has been in the wild in its host plant precisely in one kaffir lime tree, hopefully it is safe and can return to daily activities. Thank you very much.
