Hi everyone's!
After about 3 months the coastal community obeyed the government protocol in doing #stayhome at home and not doing daily activities as usual in breaking the chain of epidemics such as Covid19, today the people who work as fringe fishermen have done their usual activities as the days before Covid19 came.
You can witness the activities of several coastal fishing boats that are preparing to start a new life as the beginning of their work that has been left for 3 months.
In addition there are also a number of boats that have departed earlier in fishing in the high seas right after Friday prayers today.
A wooden fishing boat which has only two crew members is preparing provisions in the need for operations at sea as usual, equipment that is being prepared such as,
- Prepare a net made of white Sansi yarn that has been made into a trawl
- Prepare some machine tools for the needs of the high seas while sailing
- Increase some staple food to the needs of the crew at sea, because they are at sea for 2 days 2 nights
- Prepare other equipment such as fishing rods, simple barrels, fish baits and other things related to fishing operations.
One fisherman crew who works as a fisherman admitted that so far they have always stayed at home by complying with several government recommendations from all matters relating to Covid19. But today their living expenses have run out while the government in their region has not given anything to them. So they took the initiative to end the Lockdown period recommended by the local government.
If we look at these people up close, those who live on the beach, including the poor, they go to sea only to meet their household expenses, while so far they are starving by utilizing their remaining money from fishing for several months before the outbreak of Covid19 came.
They have ended the Lockdown period without accepting a decision from the government, while the government itself within their territory has not yet decided on ending this emergency period.
Then this decision is taken by coastal fishermen. Not that they violated the government's recommendations but the government itself did not care about them, the fishermen decided to end this Lockdown period by making their own decisions.
If you see the news about the government's decision to help the fishermen it is certainly very wise and good, but the government that is in an area such as the village government has not distributed anything to its people. I am also confused that the central government has decided to help every starving citizen but to this day village governments such as the Lurah (Geuchik) have not channeled anything for their citizens.
Almost every person/citizen has harassed the leader of this country, because there are elements of village actors who always enrich themselves and do not want to know the difficulties of their people. Hopefully one day officials who are always pressing or making trouble against the little people, or the poor, can be given the strictest punishment possible or can be given a death sentence, for abusing the mandate given to them.
At present small fishermen no longer comply with government regulations because they have long suffered if they do not catch fish they will have starvation effects. For fishermen today, the Lockdown period has ended by making their own decisions.
Thus the situation today is happening for the fishing community, hopefully the plague or Covid19 will soon be over. Thank you very much.
