MEDICAL DECADENT IN NIGERIA HOSPITALS
Health is wealth as propounded medical profession. No country in it right sense will take health issue secondary if that Nation understand how vital health is to the human race. Even God Himself, acknowledge the importance of health third john 2 says ‘’beloved I wish above all things that thou mayst prosper and be in heath as thy soul prosperity.
A Nation whose health sector is facing decadent is on the verge to a complete disaster of losing it purpose, as a Nation is long overdue for Nigeria health sector not to have been sufficiently dependence on it health facilities by now. The Nigeria health sector has suffered decadent over the years due to corrupt practices by various uncaring leaders whose selfish interest contributed to the decadent.
In Nigeria hospital many facilities is nothing to write home about, some of the hospital are only there for a name, the facilities are dilapidated some are not even functional and the staff are mostly un- comfortable being in office due to the state of decadent experience in Government hospital.
Drugs in most case is insufficient for administration to patience whose health condition is an emergency, is either you will be told that the Government has not or are yet to dispense drug to the hospitals. In such situation when investigation is carried out it will be discovered that most of the drugs and hospital facilities meant for the hospital are diverted for personal gain at the expense of the unhealthy citizen of the country. Under staffing is a common experience in some of the hospital while some is as the result of unserious staffs whose altitude toward medical profession is dead.
It now clear and understandably to many people why the qualify young’s doctors has been yearning to feared the shore of our Nation for a medical job conditions and rename ration is beater over there. It quiet unfortunate that most Nigerians who are rich can afford to attain for a medical treatment in the country because they also don’t I have confidence in the Nigeria hospital as the result of the decadent. To some of them is as the result of the fear of the unknown,[mean an enemy , they might be set up and eventually ] killed.
Another decadent in Nigeria medical sector that has destroyed the life’s of people in the pharmaceutical industry. Adulterated drugs produce by quaky pharmacist, some years ago, late Dr. mrs Dorathy Akunyere, who stood on her ground and fight against those fake drugs business men and she heat back by those criminals to the point of at most assassinated her at Onitsha. Dorathy knew the danger of such decadent to our medical sector that’s why she stood firm fighting against such act.
Medical disparity between the rich and the less privilege in Nigerian health system. One of the decadent that has led to the dead of so many less privilege patient in Nigeria hospital is the unfair treatment by some medical personnel in various hospital, e.g. the Doctors Nurses and other casual staff.
There are situation where an emergency case due come up. To a hospital, if that person is not a prominent personality in the community the treatment given to him or her will be different from the treatment giving to the rich person or patient. All these are son premeditated for lack of finance, and in most case the less privilege ends up in dead just for the reason of not having money deposited for the treatment. But in the case of rich the reverse is the case.
With such attitude it’s become glaring how the medical decadent in Nigerian hospital is.
Strike action which has been a normal a thing in Nigeria medical health workers. Strike actions on several occasion has really contributed to the failure of a proficient health growth in Nigeria.
