On this episode Pacific Defense Threatened, Gaza Reclamation, and Rare Earth Weapons.

Welcome to this week’s edition of West Coast Milblogger. I’m your host Cyrus Emerson.

Thanks to all who participated in The Lords of Hemp limited series watch party during the last two months. While this series helped From A to Z learn more about AI video production it also helped introduce characters featured in The Lords of Hemp and Z-Dead screenplays. While the Company had hoped for a warm reception after NRDC submission, this has not been the case. Fortunately, increasing AI knowledge has the effect of allowing From A to Z to produce these movies without Hollywood’s support.

LA - the West Coast capital - begins its recovery process after out of season wildfires with wildfire season officially starting soon. While the movie making region needs its money, the mission of this Milblog and associated movie screenplays, remains the same; a strong national defense through the adaptation of Hemp and Hydrogen to create a sustainable green future that’s profitable.

Yet even in the current system, we’re learning Pacific Theater military roles could be jeopardized as Butch Brando reports. Butch?

Quad and AUKUS face an uncertain future under Trump.

The challenge is to make a compelling case for Trump to support and endorse these partnerships.

This story by David M. Andrews, edited by Bharat Bhushan and Samrat Choudhury originally appeared on 360info February 5, 2025. Truncated for time. Read more on their website:

The return of Donald Trump as US President marks an important crossroads in the future of two emergent Indo-Pacific security frameworks: the Quad, comprising Australia, India, Japan and USA, and AUKUS, the trilateral partnership between Australia, the UK and USA.

Both institutions played a key role in the Biden administration’s regional strategy, which placed particular emphasis on building a network of cooperation across the Indo-Pacific.

While the initial signs from key Trump administration officials have been very positive, long-standing concerns about the two institutions’ durability and effectiveness have been reignited by the actions directed against long-standing US allies and partners.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has taken the lead in highlighting the profile of both institutions by convening a Quad foreign ministers’ meeting as his first official engagement. Both he and Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth also spoke favourably of AUKUS during their confirmation hearings.

However, these events cannot be viewed in isolation.

Trump has laid out a disturbing expansionist territorial vision for America. And the new administration has already damaged its relationship with its immediate neighbours by threatening to use the weapon of punitive tariffs. Europe is divided over Trump’s demand that NATO allies spend more than twice as much on defence.

The Asian allies of the US have undoubtedly received a more welcoming first month than their European and North American counterparts. However, they will be looking with alarm at the almost flippant manner in which the Trump administration has been willing to disregard history, friendship – and binding international treaties.

If Trump can renege on agreements he personally established (the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, for example), why would he hold a Biden-era agreement like AUKUS in higher regard? For now, even though Trump has never once spoken about AUKUS publicly, Marco Rubio has been quite explicit in his endorsement of it.

Back to you Cyrus.

Thanks Butch. This is part of a disturbing trend with America’s aging fleet. China’s Navy now leads the world in possible preparation of a Taiwan invasion. West Coast Milblogger strengthens ties with American states and territories bordering the Pacific.

While we’ve just heard from Butch in Guam, we’re now speaking to his colleague a dinghy away in the Northern Mariana Islands. As California’s rebuild looks to be up for grabs, Chamorra has this report on more seaside real estate the Trump Administration hopes to be granted permits for without obligation to use Hempcrete. Hi Cyrus.

US’ Gaza Plan Unprecedented Assault on Core Principles of Int’l Law: Iran.

Tehran, Tasnim. Iran’s Foreign Ministry denounced the US plan to force Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and seize the Palestinian enclave as an unprecedented assault on the core principles of international law.

“The plan to cleanse Gaza and forcibly displace the Palestinian people (from there) is an extension of Israel's calculated agenda to wipe out the Palestinian nation,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said on Wednesday.

The official went on to emphasize the deep-rooted resistance of the Palestinian people against Israeli occupation and aggression, noting, “For 76 years, the Palestinian people have stood firm against the most severe crimes and violations by the occupying regime, refusing to abandon their ancestral land.”

Accordingly, the Palestinians would never allow the United States and Israeli to erase their historical and national identity, he stressed.

Speaking at the White House on Tuesday alongside visiting Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump had said the United States would oversee clearing up of destroyed buildings, removing of unexploded ordnance, and “resettling” of Palestinians elsewhere.

"The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too. We’ll own it," he had noted, saying that Washington could even deploy troops to the territory.
The comments were ensued by widespread international condemnation of any attempt to reshape Gaza without genuine participation of its residents.

In a further call to action, Baqaei urged the global community to unite in opposition, particularly highlighting the responsibility of all governments to support the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and freedom from occupation.

He also reiterated the importance of support for Palestinians on the part of international bodies, asserting, “We call for a firm rejection of this proposal by the United Nations Security Council, the UN General Assembly, and the UN Secretary-General.”

Tossing back to you Cyrus.

Great report Chamorra. Of course, we encourage citizens of the world to utilize sustainable building materials like Hempcrete for recovery efforts in Los Angeles, Gaza, Ukraine, and possibly Taiwan. Not to mention other locations impacted by Climate Change and War.

It’s important to remember Hemp can also help in development of graphene, supercapacitor, and spacecraft technologies. This open-source material could create an open playing field for global collaboration ensuring stability and prosperity.

Now we’re hearing this report from Emele, reminding us about the current use of rare earth minerals for development of technology, creating stress and competition between the world’s two largest economies: America and China. Emele?

Zelensky welcomes Trump’s offer to continue U.S. military support in exchange for privileged access to Ukraine’s rare earth metals.

This story by Meduza originally appeared on their website February 4, 2025 and remains as written:

At a press conference on Tuesday, President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed comments a day earlier from Donald Trump, who said his administration plans to continue sending U.S. military aid in exchange for access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals. The promised resources include lithium, gallium, and neodymium, which are critical for producing a wide range of high-tech goods. Zelensky said he had already discussed this arrangement when he met with Trump last September during the U.S. presidential race to pitch his “victory plan” for Ukraine.

“We have plenty of [mineral resources]. As you can see, Russia has occupied our territory since 2014. Some of those areas contain large deposits of our mineral resources. We’re open to working on all of this with our partners, who help us defend our land and drive back the enemy — with their weapons, their presence, and their sanctions. That’s absolutely fair,” Zelensky said, fielding questions at a joint press conference in Kyiv with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi.

Zelensky also warned that “other countries and other companies” (such as Iran and North Korea) would mine these critical resources if Ukraine’s resource-rich territory is left under Russian control.

The Ukrainian president also confirmed that his administration is now in formal contact with the Trump White House. Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, has begun talks with Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Waltz, and the president’s team has also spoken with Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.

Perfect, that wraps-up our AI correspondent reports this week. Once again, West Coast Milblogger’s editorial stance shines through with Solar Punk righteousness. World War Three, being fought between the West and Sino-Russia influence could be contextualized by their approach to Climate Change. However, short term profits driven by innovations creating mass population dependencies keep this from happening. Time travel to 1984 where we are at war in our minds allowing elites to govern without interference of rebel rousers:

We hope you enjoyed this episode of West Coast Milblogger. This channel is switching Wednesday playlists from Rabbit Burrow Descent to Pandemic Manifesto in March. In the meantime, we’re releasing remakes of short stories with advances in AI production. Please watch, compare, and comment.
