Hello hivers
Experiences are events we choose not to forget.
They may be good or bad.
Today, I want to share a few events, that brought me and my family closer over the years.
Well you see,
My parents didn’t do a good job at maintaining good communication between my family and my extended family.
So I grew up not even knowing I had cousins. Yes that bad..
After many years had passed, I started hearing names of people that were supposed to be my extended family members.
well as they say family is family.I learnt to accept the fact that I had people related to me.
Well, the first major event that brought us closer. was the birth of my little cousin. although he’s not so little now. So I had this aunt from my mum’s side (she passed) who was married and didn’t have any child for well over 12 years..
so when she finally gave birth, there was a mass gathering of relatives at her house. That’s where I got to meet several of my cousins for the first time. see relatives I never knew I had..
I would say it was a fun experience then.
Well the second event wasn’t as joyful as the first one.
It was the burial of my father..
That was in 2015. when I was still fresh in the university. He died on the way back home after visiting me in school.. still hurts because I’d have loved more time. Well we can’t always have what we want.
Anyway fast forward to the burial day...
I got to meet a lot of relatives from my fathers side. A lot of people and I couldn’t even understand the familiarity they had for me at first..
but that was another event that brought my family closer.
Well these are a few events. there’s more but these two had the most impact. You can share yours too
