I wonder why I never break my phones. I've got a 4 year cycle between phones, but my current has been on me for over 4½ years already. Both of my previous smartphones (I've had three counting the current one) are still working.
Since 1996 I've had 7 phones.
Wow! Maybe you're more cautious than me. My girlfriend is always saying me that I don't protect my things..
Your "old" phones are still working.. Why you don't sell them and get some HIVE ? :))
Heh... well, I haven't really paid that much attention to mine.
I have dropped them more than a few times without more than small scratches. Maybe I've just been lucky. I haven't even had protective cases (or glass) for most of them.
Oh, one thing. I try to keep the plastic protector they came with on the screen as long as I can. By the time I have had to remove it has usually been the time I've bought myself a new phone.
Also, being a FOSS guy, my three smartphones have all been unlocked, and come with Free (libre) and Open Source Software. Not sure if that's got anything to do with them not breaking or not. 🤣
As my current Jolla C is getting older I am now eyeing the Librem 5.
I gave my previous Jolla to my wife. Not sure if I can sell the Google ADP1 or my current phone for any actual money, because they are all so old.
Maybe the ADP1 might be interesting to some collector, but I am not sure. While the screens are all fine, and they all work, there are some other rather visible signs of usage on them.
