Hello and good morning all, today I'd like to share a carving I had to build..the momma bear on all fours.
Below you will find a few progress pictures leading up to the finished product.
Started with a log set on its side and propped up on a block. Didn't look like much at this point but that changes quickly using a chainsaw.
Here she is with one leg found along with her head. Getting closer..
Here I am being goofy..
Not long after the goofiness I found all of her legs.
Each one attached using gorilla glue and lag bolts
But not before I made sure they fit right..
Here she is upside down during the glue up..
Cleaned up the glue and stood her up to make sure she looked ok..I was satisfied
Details, details, details...
Next up was burning and flapsanding..
Then paint,
Using the airbrush...with a little white and brown for the eyes.
She was finished and picked up not long after, to a very happy customer.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I saw, I love what I do and I'm happy to share here on Peakd. Please do stay tuned as I have much more to share. Thanks for looking and be well,
Jon
