Practicing eagles for an upcoming project

in #ocd6 days ago

Hello and good morning all,
Today I'd like to share a recent piece I carved. A small eagle...

In the winter, I only carve smalls and ship them out. The larger pieces are carved in the warmer months as it's easier.

It started with a quarter sawn log and a couple crayon markings.

Not long after, I had it roughed out with the chainsaw..

Next I scraped the char off and sanded a bit before paint..

Then some shadowing with the airbrush...

Finished it off with a splash of white and yellow..

I had a request for a larger eagle once the weather warms up so this was practice and will be sold on the Facebook page.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I saw, if so feel free to upvote and reblog. I love what I do and I'm happy to share here on Peakd. Please do stay tuned as I have much more to share on this awesome platform. Thanks for looking,
Jon
