Hello and good morning all,
Today I'd like to share one of my favorite things to carve. A flying owl..
It didn't start out pretty, but then again, none of them do until they do..
Here it is blocked out with bulk wings attached. I attach them bulky for strength and stability.
Started honing in here, getting closer.
One of the wings broke off so I had to replace it..good thing wood is forgiving.
Dialed it in with details..
Here it is after details and ready for the torch..
Here's a gif showing the torching process..
Hit it with the airbrush for some shadowing, and varnish.
Lastly, a splash of white with a dry brush to finish off.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I saw, I love what I do and I'm happy to share here on Peakd. Please do stay tuned as I have much more to share on this awesome platform. Thanks for looking.
Jon

Thank you, yeah a few of my friends were in it. Was based in Canada, called "A Cut Above"
I would have passed on doing it though, they had a requirement I didn't agree with
That’s right. A cut above.
Sweet work you do. Just checked out your past stuff too.
Thanks man, there's more to come and also thanks for the follow
Hey what’s up stranger?! Good to see you’re still around and making dope sculptures!
Gotta love a carved owl like that, looks really good with the burned/weather style.
Thank you, yeah I had a few deaths in the family. Now that affairs are somewhat in order its back to business.
Damn sorry to hear that man!!
It's ok now, we have to move on, make them proud and remember the good times. Thank you
