You could say copywriting found me !

in #ocdlast year

I was never on of those kids that liked to pick up a pen and paper to write rhymes or poems because it wasn’t my thing. I did write some love letters in my teenage years but that was just about it nothing exceptional.

The Beginning:

I was in church the other day when I saw on the advertisement board that a new skill acquisition program was about to start. I quickly took out my phone and registered for it without even considering what skill I wanted to learn. I just wanted a bulky résumé for my professional career.
When I finally chose copywriting I thought to myself of course this will be a piece of cake for me because i use to blog on readcash, boy was I wrong.

Discovering the Power of Words:

After about a month of intense training and class drills I began to understand the importance of sentence structure and purposeful writing. I did a lot of research writing, SEO writing, email marketing, land page writing, LinkedIn marketing and so many more. I quickly understood that writing a well structured piece was not child’s play and one could make a career of writing and I am talking millions here…. And yes that is me in the ash colored cap hiding my face I don’t look great in pictures.

Learning the Ropes:
I started to follow some amazing script writers on LinkedIn, read their works and tried to discover the inspiration behind their writing.
Remember how I said I wrote a love letter in my younger teen years well I wrote another one but that is a story for another day “lol”.

First Successes:
I wrote a piece that was featured in the church magazine which was basically about my journey. Also got a certificate and an award for the best writer in my department. It was a very overwhelming feeling for me I was really excited to finally be part of this amazing field of life.

Conclusion:
In conclusion I intend to get better at this, write more exciting pieces, stories, journals, articles and business oriented content( by the way I am a professional copywriter or at-least I am becoming). I intend to dive deeply into product branding and LinkedIn optimization.

He who writes in a way that an 11-years old child can read and understand should consider himself a guru” Okay I don’t know what that means I just know it’s a popular saying. Thank you for reading with me be encouraged and never loose hope.

Best regards
Levi.
