OCD DAILY - Issue #247
Welcome to the 247th issue of @OCD Daily!
Issue #247 highlights content from 10 Steemit Content Creators! The OCD team continues its search throughout Steemit to find you the undervalued gems, as provided by relatively new users.
Today our curators found you 10 new pieces of original content! We strive to find works that are provided by newer Steemit users, that may not have the audience which their quality content deserves. @OCD strives to help provide that audience, and intends to showcase Steemit users who put in the extra effort to create creative, original content.
A curator will FIND a piece of work (typically from newer users). Within 24 hours that piece has been submitted from the curator to the @OCD team, votes are tallied, and the pieces with the most votes are placed into the compilation.
We encourage you to visit these blogs and to show these great Steemians your support and encouragement.
All of the content as chosen by our curators is undervalued, but there is always one piece that rises to the top. That piece is seen as universally appreciated and valued making it OCD’s Top Nomination of the Day.
Our top nomination today comes from @chaseburnett and his photographs of ice caves in Alaska. These caves are located in Byron Glacier and their openings were revealed in recent avalanches and the last few photographs show gorgeous rays of the setting sun in Girdwood. Don't miss this gorgeous, translucent caves!
In our next post, @hetty-rowan shares the best way to treat fleas on dogs. Rather than collars, pipettes, or pills (all of which have drawbacks), Hetty recommends natural methods. You can increase your dog's resistance to fleas with a good diet, supplements, and phytotherapy. Which herbs are the best? You'll have to click through and find out for yourself!
An incredible artist, @hadley4, has put pencil to paper to produce this realistic drawing of Thanos from Avengers Infinity War. The instruments used include HB graphite pencil, a blur, a rubber eraser, and cardboard and some really cool process photographs are shared in this post.
In the next post, @joshuakhoo shows various uses of a fisheye lens in photography and utilizes moving gifs in a clever way to show differences between lens types. In fact, Joshua gives us six reasons to love (and use) a fisheye lens. The best reason? It's fun, a lot like this Steemit post!
Why make banana cake? Well, @nathyang tells us that it helps avoid food waste and provides a high potassium level. And in addition to a great recipe, this post provides tips on how to use banana peels! Fair warning: there's chocolate chips in the yummy-looking photographs of this cake... you may want to eat before reading.
As @zahra23 points out, bamboo root waste is usually just burned for firewood, but artist Roni Kumprung transforms bamboo root into sculptured human faces. Of particular charm is when the roots form the beard or hair of the face. Roni wants to prove that utilizing waste can create jobs and this story of waste turned art is truly inspiring!
When @wanderlass learned of an art workshop in her area, she quickly signed up and found the art of doodling was a form of therapy for her. Workshop students were simply asked for fill empty boxes with doodles representing how they felt or what they saw, and in class she found she was actually able to release tension through this artform.
In our next nomination, @alain-bellino finishes his sculpture process of the R2D2 droid from Star Wars. Note the intricate lace work on the droid's outer surface that's not present in the original. It makes this sculpture truly a work of art! And the pictures of R2D2 in various classical and baroque settings give the post a definite 2001 feel.
Don't miss the next post, showcasing comic mutants courtesy of @crittercrats. The Critteria Fair is in town! Included in the post are process photographs and a completed comic in full gif mode.
A punk rocker at heart, @tacostate has given us some warhol-esque graphic design from an old copy of New York Rocker in our last nomination of the day. These pop-art spreads will take you back to the new wave design and New York punk scene of the 1970s.
We hope you were able to take away something different, fresh, and new from these content posts, as provided by the @ocd curators.
