Hello Hive friends!
It’s been more than a week since I last posted. I missed Hive so much I’ve been yearning to post again and tell you what happened on my absence.
My phone broke! The battery exploded and the technician said that the mother board crashed as well. I’ve been using my Huawei Nova 3i for the last two years and it has become my ultimate gadget. I am shopping online, do my online banking, pay bills and groceries, took photos, communicate with my family and friends, watch movies and my favorite Kdramas. The precious pictures of my youngest (who is now a toddler) since he was born was all there!
And most of all, it is the only tool I use for PeakD!!! .
Well you see, I am using PeakD Android App since it was launched. The app is user friendly and I can easily attach my photos and videos since it’s all in my phone.
I also have tons of pictures for posting on Hive on that damn phone.
But thinking about it, it was my fault why it happened to my phone. It was all due to my negligence and over usage.
You see, I was using it day and night and seldom shut it down. I opened apps simultaneously and do not close them. I just switch from one app to another. I also use it while it charges, especially when I am watching movies and Kdramas ! I was so engrossed in the movies that don’t want to miss a scene.
I am such a bad bad owner.
So now that I realized my mistakes, I want to share with you these important tips based on my experience.
TIPS ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PHONE
Charge phone when it gives warning. Do not use while it is charging. Better to shut it down or just don’t use it. Leave the goddamn phone alone!
Close the apps when not in use. It also saves its battery.
Check the physical appearance of the phone. Battery normally protrudes or bulges when it is damaged, defective or almost worn out.
4.Remove the phone’s casing from time to time to check on the phone’s appearance. If only I removed my phone’s case, I might have noticed the bulge the battery made.
5.Do not leave the phone charging overnight. The battery might be overcharged. There are still some phones which do not have auto shut features when it is fully charged.
6.Transfer your precious pictures and videos to an external hard drive or cloud services to keep them safe.
It was fortunate that my phone did not ignite when its battery exploded. I am still thankful for that.
Now, I am using an old phone from my daughter and an old netbook which is too lagged since it is outdated. I am surprised that this old netbook is still working despite being unused for several years!
I do hope that through Hive, I can buy a new phone and a laptop…. Soon! *fingerscrossed

If your daughter does not use it for anything else, you can install lubuntu on it. It's going to make your old device runs smooth. I use old device, 5 years old-ish and I put lubuntu (linux) 18.04 or below on it and I never have any lag problems. My phone is having the same issues as well. It's battery is "pregnant" the screen is green as well :D strangely it's still working and surviving for a 4 y/o phone.
Thanks for the recommendation @macchiata ! Unfortunately the netbook now displays a blue screen when turned on. I think i have to bring this to a technician and then download lunubu.. for the meantime i have to make the most of this 6 year old phone until i find means to buy a new one haha
Whopsies! I am really sorry to hear that. I hope you can find the means to repair the screen and also get a new phone. 😊
