I want to share with you some photos from our four-wheel driving expedition to the Glow Worm tunnel and the Lost City.
Located less than two hours from Sydney, near the town of Lithgow, this was an easy off-road destination with a small group of friends.
Our meeting place was the Zig-Zag railway which is now unfortunately closed due to lack of funding. From there we headed to the Glow Worm tunnel.
The off-road track leads through an old disused railway tunnel. We left the car at a small carpark and walked through stunning scenery to the Glow Worm Tunnel. The tunnel is occupied by huge colonies of glow-in-the-dark fungus larvae, aka glow worms.
Our next destination was the Lost City. We spent a good hour looking for a hidden track leading to it with no signs on the way, which is probably why the city remains lost. The city is really just an interesting formation of rocks.
