Yep, offgrid house made with some Earthship techniques, like Earth-rammed tires covered with mortar which you can see in this picture

Ooooh, lovely - just had a peek at your previous posts. Well done!!! Seems like a big time investment and a lot of back breaking work! I love researching about sustainable building, I hope to have a patch of land of my own some day and do something along those lines.

Thx! I've been at it for 4 years now. Lots of time invested for sure, but the lifestyle frees up time, and I'd prefer to invest my work into my home rather than exchange it for paper$$. I just found a fallow piece of land and built there! Now the property I've built is my stake to the land, held in Allodium.

You mean you didn't own the land or get planning permission? I live mostly between Ireland and the UK... it's such a high population density (even more so in the UK) and planners are such sticklers, it really is like playing a complex game of chess to find loop-holes and dodge the paper pushers for things like that!

Correct, I found a fallow piece of land where I wasn't disturbing anyone on the edge of an old town quarry, and built my off-grid home there. Definitely strategy involved and picking the right piece of land and taking steps not to attract attention were essential for the first few years. But if you're not asking permission and not creating conflict with neighbors, then there won't be many problems.

I bet that's not in the UK though. I reckon it' be possible in a woodland in some parts of Ireland with extreme care, the UK is very difficult! Well done that you pulled that off!
