Another truth

This was a post by a LinkedIn contact talking about making life right decisions after Undergraduate years.

Story shared below is actually his own story......well a part of it is his own story while others are insights from ongoings in the world.

Please read and react to this. His post is quoted below

"Think Twice Before Going for Masters Degree (M.sc)

I gained admission into the university in 2011 at 20 years. I thought I will graduate by the age of 23. That dream never came through because I went to a public university. Graduating in 2015, I stayed at home for a year before NYSC, I finished NYSC at 26 going to be 27.

It took the wisdom & experience of my mentor for me to realize that going for masters at 26 without any job experience wasn’t the best. If I had gone for masters, I would probably graduate at 28. Getting a good job at that age without previous experience will be difficult. At 28, most companies expect you to have nothing less than 2 yrs.

You need to be strategic about life:

1.If you're 23 years & below, going for masters if you don’t quickly get a job is cool

2.If you're 25 years and above, I'll advise you to first get a job to get experience & do masters later

3.If your long-term goal is to end up in the academia as a lecturer or to start a business, masters is cool if not writing professional exams is better

4.Before going for masters, calculate the age you will be done with the it & look at the age requirement in your industry.

Life is about doing first thing first. "

I have no misgivings to this and even went as far as sharing it with Remi regardless of the fact that she just might break my head or even give me attitude this night.

Still at work by the way, still working my supposed 8 to 5 job.
