That is a nice stand of sumac, even though I don't see any seed heads anywhere. They make a nice landscaping shrub for a big space. Fall in Michigan is so wonderful! It seems to never end -- right up until Halloween, when the weather inevitably turns cold and wet. It's a good time to be looking for Mayapple fruit out in the woods, and maybe you will see some Giant Puffball mushrooms, too. It's about time for them, too, in southern Michigan! :D
Here in western Oregon, fall has set in, but from the lack of water, not from any cold. The native Oregon Ash trees are turning yellow, and pine trees are dropping their 2-year old needles. I am so looking forward to fall!
