SunThursday!

We dont usually get many days of sun and clear skies here in Michigan. So when we do, its a good idea to make hay while the sun shines. See what I did there? I'm mighty clever I know it lol.

I shoot these in Aperture mode with it cranked up to a high F stop to try to maximize the sun rays.

Fringing and Flaring

Yes you are likely to set some purple fringing and various sun flares. We are shooting directly at the sun after all lol. For #SunThursday I think that can be expected.

UV Lens Cover

If I can remember to, next time I will try to pop on a UV filter and see how that effects the photo.

That Sun Sure Does Light Up Those Leaves Though

I really love the color of the sky , clear sky blue...

Enjoy that sun while you have it! It won't last for long, lol. Michigan is more cloudy than the Pacific Northwest in the fall and winter - until Lake Michigan freezes over. Something to look forward to! ; )

Yes the gray dome effect. Not many blue skies at all!

Every time I see you, you make me laugh, I do not call you a clown, no, I like to see you change your face

I feel the wind and the smell of autumn. Thank you for that my friend ;)) Great work

Thanks for coming along!

Very pretty photos dear sir!

Beautiful photos, my favorites the last two. : )

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s a pleasure

Lovely pictures. I haven't seen the sun this week because we've had so much rain. It's all dark and dreary here.

Usually we are under the gray dome here as well!

Nice photography work if do say so myself.

Much obliged, Sir.

86 degrees today in Phoenix ... am actually craving some Winter Chill soon for Christmas !

Yikes, still hot.

Nice photos! It has been rainy and dreary where I'm at so no sun shots for me. Maybe I'll dust off the UV filter come spring if I can still find it, lol.

I wonder if that would help with the purpling of the flares...

I love the way the light brings out the colors at this time

I am so bad I have UV and other filters, for my main lenses, well for most actually since I have the adapters for most lens, but I am a slacker there is a drawer probably gathering dust and I seldom ever take them out , well I say Seldom, but since I have been using Sony so maybe two years I have never got them out what a waste lOL

I did put a filter on my macro lese just simply because it need to be so close to the object, I am afraid of bumping the subject with the glass lens so the cover is a good protective against that.

Actually I did the same when I had a macro lens, thats most likely my next lens purchase for my Sony Kit

Well, thanks for that. If I get the sun flare, it is usually by mistake. Now I may try it for real next time!

That sun and shine sure does make a difference in the colors! They are absolutely beautiful!

Thanks. I hope you do try it out and let us all see the results. It is kind of fun actually.

Beautiful sunlight! :)

love the first one so well frame

Those are all beautiful sun captures!

Looks as though you did get some gorgeous foliage after all! @old-guy-photos Who can resist a bright, sunny day? I love all of your photographs and especially the video!!! Enjoy your weekend🌳⛅🍁☉🌲

It is nice to enjoy the blue skies now. Of course I enjoy the puffy clouds also.

Never thought to mess with aperture to accentuate sun rays. Also never been able to shoot straight at the sun and not blow out the picture. You not only got a sweet sun but super colorful leaves, nicely done!
