While writing my last post about the actual gold content in a Pyeongchang gold medal, I thought of doing another fun comparison piece.

We will work off the assumption that gold medals since 1912 have the minimum requirement of 6 grams of gold plating. As we unfortunately discovered in my last post, a gold medal is just a silver medal plated with 6 grams of gold.
The gold in 1 gold medal, has just about the same gold content as a single gold cube from Menē:

The gold in 5 gold medals has about the same gold content as this Gold Dome Ring from Menē:

The Olympian’s that won these medals sacrificed much of their lives to gain the skills to achieve these victories. This type of dedication should be recognized and given notice. It is a monumental testament to commitment and hard work.
I also believe that the average person, is in their own way an Olympian. We all give up time away from our loved ones to earn a living for decades to provide for our selves and our families.
When we do that, we should be able to keep and protect our accumulated savings. We all need protection from relentless inflation and currency debasement. The only way to achieve this is to have some of our savings in gold.

Not only do we deserve to wear gold, we deserve it to be 24 karat gold that will protect it’s own value forever.
And do it in a way we are proud to wear!

I think the Olympics should be giving the winners Menē instead of those "gold" medals.
It is crazy to think about that one heart and nail bracelet have the same gold content as ALL of the medals Michael Phelps worked his entire life to get!

Menē ‘s design premium never exceeds 20%. The medal would be priced by current spot price of gram weight otherwise
Would probable cost around $2K for a nice one, but they do also get a cash prize,
so i guess it would be cool if you could use your cash prize partially to get a FULL gold medal
they get soo many sponser..so much money.. still they act cheap

Michael phelphs turned his rare condition into an asset . I believe if i am not mistaken he has a marfan syndrome. If i'll be the athlete by myself. I will call the attention of the organizers to give me mene jewelry instead of a circular gold medal :D
