Forest 4 - painting and progress of work step by step

I said the other day i will post this technique step by step so here is it, and I think that's the easiest technique to paint, especially if you want to represent a forest.

I saw the technique by the great master and amazing good teacher Bob Ross.
I don't know if he invented it, but I saw it from him a few months ago and absolutely had to try it out 👩‍🎨 so thank you master 🙏 and God bless you my friend. 😊💝

I see that I need more nature studies for the forest, so I'll go out soon and paint a few trees outside. 🌳🌲🌾💚

Forest 4, oil on canvas, 40x30 cm, 2021

This is the material you need:
Gesso black and white
a sponge (I used to make some by myself out of a sponge for washing dishes)
a thin brush for small branches
kitchen roll paper.

At frst, prime the canvas with black gesso.
Let it dry and I sand it down a little bit if necessary.

Use a kitchen roll paper to create a light source, start with white gesso in the middle.

Then comes gray gesso:

When it's dry (you can help with a hair dryer), start making trees with a sponge.
At first with black on white background...

Then with gray on gray...

And white on black:

And the gras:

Make thin branches with a thin font brush:

Let it dry well. I used liquid clear oil paint from Bob Ross to first apply a thin layer over the entire painting with a piece of cotton fabric. But you can do it also without this.

Choos your color palette how you like,
I always have difficulty choosing a color.
Then at the end, like always, I used all the colors I have 🙄

I see big differences in photos 😬
