Unfortunately, I am unable to watch your video. DTube doesn't work well in China but I have read your post and the comments below so I will try and chime in and try to help you and anyone else reading this.

There are some topics on DTube that are difficult to get upvoted because it is oversaturated. For example, there are thousands of inspirational/motivational videos on DTube so what makes yours stand out if you were to make your own?

If you are not getting noticed by DTube, then perhaps you need to reconsider how you are presenting your content. I am someone that gets noticed by DTube regularly so I will share what things I have learned.

  1. Captivate your audience in the first few seconds of your video. Unless your topic is super interesting, you will probably just get disregarded if your video is nothing but you talking to the camera. Some people never even leave their basement/room to make a DTube video and I think that really hinders their growth. Have a unique look to your videos that no one else has. For me, I post videos about China and get noticed regularly because I think lots of people are interested in China and not many people on here make videos about that. For your videos, you could try B-roll, starting it off with camera tricks, upbeat music, colour grading to make your videos pop out more, fast jump cuts, etc. In my opinion, the first 10 seconds of your video are the absolute most important part of your video. If you can't intrigue or engage people right there, then you probably won't get noticed. The curators probably don't have enough time to watch your video in its entirety, so those first 10 seconds are crucial.
  2. Don't put extra effort into your videos that you could easily lose. The videos I have spent the most time and effort on didn't even get upvoted by DTube. It hurt to see that happen but at the same time, I should be making videos that I like making and shouldn't be going through extra effort just so DTube will notice me. If you don't find satisfaction in improving your craft in making videos, then maybe DTube isn't for you anyway.
  3. Don't repost old YouTube videos. This is one of the biggest issues people have. They essentially make videos for YouTube but will try and post them here to get extra money. DTube should be your priority. Videos should appear on DTube before they appear on other sites like YouTube. Curators will find that this is a repost and you will be given less attention.
  4. Cut the DTUBE EXCLUSIVE crap out. This one is actually a big pet peeve of mine and forgive my brutal honesty as it will sound harsh. I doubt anyone gives a damn that your video is only on DTube but I know why people do it. People write DTube Exclusive to try and capture the attention of the curators but to be honest, it just looks spammy and stupid IMO; especially when it is at the beginning of your title. On the DTube home page, you can only see the first ~60 characters of your title. Why are you wasting that space by saying DTube exclusive? You are essentially saying that being on DTube is more important than whatever your video is about. Too many people are acting like try-hards. You have DTube exlusive in the title and thumbnail, plus the DTube logo. This makes you look like some child begging for attention from a caregiver like "look at me! look at me!"
  5. Your thumbnail is super important. Your thumbnail needs to pop out and intrigue people. If it is just a picture of your face, it will probably just get looked over. Your thumbnail needs to stand out in some way. Use canva.com to make an attractive thumbnail and increase the contract and saturation. That will make objects in your thumbnail more well defined instead of blurry/flat. This is the reality. Gone are the days of making amateur videos. Each of us has probably watched thousands of videos online so the standard for video quality has gone up drastically. You need to produce quality and unique content that intrigues people quickly. People rambling in their basement about loving yourself or how to be happy is ubiquitous. If DTube isn't noticing you, then maybe you can learn about how to better present your content. I started from 0 like everyone else and my first videos didn't get noticed for the same reason as everyone else. Over time, I dedicated more focus to DTube and made it a priority. This site isn't just about making money or posting old videos, but a learning experience.

Hope that helps!

It sure is unfortunate that you could not watch it as you seem to completely have no clue as to what my video was about. Then again as you mentioned you never saw it. You seem to think I am having trouble 'Not being noticed by DTube'. When in fact that could not be further from the truth. The vast majority of what you said in your comment is great advice for all steemians. You mentioned to "Cut the crap out" with the DTube Exclusive bit of my description. I do not see creating content that can not be found anywhere else on the internet and making sure the world knows it as "crap". I have seen some people (few) but some steal videos and post them as if they are their own. And or post the same video across many platforms (which is their business if they choose to do so) but I chose not to. DTube has no issue with me writing that in or on my thumbnail as if you scroll through my videos they often upvote me and that is part of my title. Calling someone elses "art" crap is the only childish act since you brought up people acting childish. As is calling people names. Giving advice, or stating opinions is fine.. but to start name calling is a whole other ball game. You just wrote a million and one things that had nothing to do with the topic of the video. I hope your tips help others. My tip to others is to be kind. You can actually be honest, polite, truthful, and kind, while maintaining an opinion. Its my thumbnail, and my video description.. I can write what I choose on that line. And DTube does beat a dead horse of topics. You have no idea what this video was about. Therefore commenting on it was absurd. Have a nice day dear.

I did not call your content crap. I said writing "DTube Exclusive" is spammy and stupid. The crap I was referring to was the writing of "DTube Exclusive" in your title to try and get attention from curators. It's not only you that does it but several other users.

I managed to get your video working and I understand what you are talking about. You mentioned that there needs to be a wider variety of topics. That is true. There isn't enough diversity of topics on DTube. You also mentioned how your video about a bunny being born was completely ignored so I don't understand how you can say that I have "no clue" as to what your video was about when my comment very well applied to points you made in your video.

Anyways, good luck to you.

Darn tooting @kawaiicrush, it’s discuraging when I spend 14 hrs on a vlog that means a lot to me and it’s overlooked yet 4 hrs on something that promotes the platform gains attention.

I still say ads are the way to go in some way or another @heimindanger! I suggeste creator only ads keep it internal allow those with STEEM in excess to promote themselves and pay the rest of us!

Good talk girls home your system gets running soon
#OneLoveDTube

Thanks @Dookie! I couldn't agree more. I really enjoy when I see your vlog of the ride in BC, or a walk with the Dog.. when I notice a lack of attention on content that I really do value.. and then the attention always being given to the same 'dead horse', I can not help but think of the saying "Beating a dead horse". Sure maybe we all have unique tastes, and what one of us enjoys another may not like. But that is ok.. we can all choose to watch what we wish. My only issue is that the diversity is not being celebrated. For me that would be like trying to grow a garden with out sunshine and water. Celebrating people will cultivate creativity.. and when others grow.. we all grow! We can do this guys! Lets support each other!

Amen

Thanks @OneLoveDTube... lifting others up is what its all about!

You can not just call for more variety, this is a free platform were anyone can post what they want. If no one wants to post what you want, you can't just force them. This is how I see the platform, you post whatever you want, and if it gets the viewers attention, then that is the popular topic. What people should not do is, post things just because it's the popular topic at the moment, I am heavy against that.
To put it simply, just post what you want.

I dont think you watched my video. I did not say there is not enough variety. I said only 2 or 3 topics get noticed by the DTube Curators. Which may cause people who have unique interests to leave, and stop creating. I said all people should be supported. DTube needs to diversify. They themselves agree with this as they are the ones who changed their curation policy recently in an attempt to resolve this issue. Please watch the video before commenting. You sound as if your responding to the 'title' aka reading a book by its cover. Which is exactly what I am against. Open the book and listen. Get to know what it is about before you give your review. Also the public can request what they want to see. If a vegan goes to a restaurant and they do not have a vegan choice.. they would have every right to ask for one. It is no different here. And at any rate as I mentioned there is variety here. It is just not celebrated.

Nah, the problem with me is that I tend to comment while watching the video, or when I'm half way tru. By the end I noticed that all I said was the same you said. And yeah, you are right, what can I say. Completely right. Dtube upvotes sometimes the same poster and that pushes diversity to the backseat.

Ok cool glad we understand one another! Its all love over here! I am here to support you my friend.

I like your sentiment. It's interesting because I've been researching camera gear for the past couple of weeks and it's all been on YouTube. I'd struggle to find good reviews like those here and I wish that would change. I know where to come for videos on crypto and tips and advice on why to post to DTube!

Good post! ... I agree 100% ... I'm under the impression that a great many who use DTube already have preferences towards a certain niche. About 8 to 10 years ago I wrote professionally for a US client; which meant I had to research and write on subjects... I had mostly free rage in terms of what I wrote but it had to be on the subject... My former client had already a niche established and that was the only thing he wanted... Most people do not actually research their subjects other than going to a single source like Youtube and watching a video or two and then writing their own opinions with absolutely no citing of materials, basically plagiarizing themselves. Producing a DTube video that is only of an opinion means that anyone can give their opinion... Don't get me wrong it has it's place like your video! ... You are adding REAL VALUE by saying there is a REAL need for more selection and asking people to create more content just of wider range of interest. << That is good ... My opinion having wrote professionally is that to produce a DTube video that is of substance that is informative, meaningful, and is in simple plain speech means individuals NEED to write an ESSAY on the subject of at least 1,000 words that has been proof read and corrected ... THEN make a video from that content providing citation... Otherwise if you do not create an ESSAY as a guideline and go off script complicated issues become overly hard to follow and understand by viewers and oneself... I take it kawaiicrush that you have your grade 11 or 12 ... Do you remember writing Essays and how your teachers would grade your paper? ... Write to that quality is what I think DTubers need to do BEFORE they post their videos... The mentality of writing for money needs to end or at least not be only other factor of DTube(ers) posts as the end result is quick short videos with no actual meaning or value to viewers... Or long videos that have a person sitting for 20 or more minutes talking in circles being overly vague and giving opinions... Maybe put out a daily post asking viewers of DTube to speak on a specific subject and be a facilitator to answer you back via a DTube post of theirs instead of writing back to you like I am... Make a list of issues YOU want first THEN ask you followers to create and upload their videos as a reply to your subjects that range daily, weekly, and monthly... Saying I want my viewers to engage me and actually do a little research that would take a couple of hours really is not out of line, considering to have an opinion means you need to have some exposure to such content... People's opinions are fine after they do the research on the subject, not before.

I really enjoyed your well thought out comment. I am not sure what you mean about my level of education. I did not know that ones education of lack there of had anything to do with creating content. I never claimed to be the best writer in the world. I am far from it as I am sure you can tell. I am just a person who enjoys the world around me. Thank you for your heart felt comment. I love how you think. Thank you for your contribution to my video. I will strongly consider your suggestions. You have my support my friend.

I never meant anything negative regarding yourself or meant to insult you.

I followed you my friend. I am not insulted. I just wanted to better understand your question. Or at least the reason for it. At any rate you are most welcome to join me any day of the week for a lovely thought provoking comment such as was left by you previously!

Many who post videos do not actually write on the subject they proclaim their expertise within... Many times I see, in my opinion, people who do not know how to do proper research and who also do not know how to write, or write well enough... So the process of doing basic research gets ignored and instead people take a video of themselves speaking the a subject, but NOT offering anything but opinions... Giving an opinion on an essay that you wrote for example is different from giving an opinion on someone else essay or video because when you write out something you UNDERSTAND it on a more deeper level... Giving an opinion on someone else essay or video to many means a simple viewing of a video with little to no understanding of the real content... With the exception of those who already have a background within that subject.

Thanks again @Unity404! I really enjoyed your comments. Fun to see so many thought provoking ideas. I look forward to seeing your content, and having you back now and again as well :D

Look forward to future posts from you. Not sure how many video posts I will make coming up but I'm considering a few things. :)

You are so right, and it feels like it's something that's been talked about so much, but doesn't seem to be changing in any significant way. I do feel like Dtube's making an effort to encourage content that is not just about the platform, but it seems like the community itself should open up more.
I think you guys are crushing it, don't give up.

Thanks @rutheh! Your channel was one I really honestly, and thoroughly enjoy! Which is why I was so disappointed when you had left us for a bit. I am so thrilled you are back and as soon as I get my PC I will be stalkin your videos girl friend!
=P
You are always a positive voice! I respect you so much Ruth!

@kawaiicrush totally agree with you. Unfortunately the topics/shows that are giving variety get suppressed. I know this 1st hand LOL! I am all for variety here. Will we get it? I doubt it very highly unfortunately. Great video! How have you all been?

Thanks @thepuppetpatch! I love to see unique and different content! The "tube" aka "boobtube" was of course as you know from tv sets.. its fuction in the television set was to feed the channels/images on the screens of the tv sets. Is this DTube? Or BeatingaDeadHorseTube? Imagine if TV only had one or two stations? Oh wait TV was limiting.. and that is why we all cancelled the cable subscriptions and watch netflix instead lol! Variety! That is what we need! And I firmly stand behind it! Keep doing what your doing Puppet! You are being an original and I love that! I am glad you enjoyed my video.. Ava and I have been great thanks! Our high end PC was hacked and we had to bring it into the shop. I should have it back by Friday and then I will be going full steam ahead!! Chuga Chuga Toot Toot :P

Come check out my stuff if ya like :)
I have an acer spin series 1.. she is a beauty :D
Yeeow.

Yes the good ole Acer.. when I get my PC back I am thinking of driving over this Acer with my van.. then baking it in my microwave.. not before I throw it off Niagara Falls lol... the Acer messes with my audio when I edit on here.. do you have that problem too @jeffandhisguitar? Thanks for your comment! =P

Oh how that would make a good video!!
I am sure that would be up there on the trending page!

I haven't had any problems with my Acer yet touch wood.. I am dreading the day when I do.
I only bought it last year and it's an Acer spin 1,, She is ok but the memory gets filled pretty quick.
It is my first ever laptop so I have nothing to compare it to.
Wishing you luck with your computer cake :D

Very good post maddam
