RE: One photo every day: Käpytikanpojan aamiaishetki :: Great spotted woodpecker chick having a breakfast (350/365)

Thanks! It's not much of a camera, not by these days' standards at least, but it does the job. (I could do with a longer lens though.)

@cryptoandcoffee said I "have eyes like a hawk", but I think I actually use my ears more. It would be very difficult spotting a bird or a nest with just eyes. One has to be aware of their surroundings, and I think shooting bird photos has actually made me learn a few things about their singing, call signs and indeed, how it makes easier to spot them. :)

Oh, and I've started reading about birds from books and wikipedia... Those are quite the treasure troves if you ask me. :)

I think it’s interesting that you bring up other sense when taking photos, it should definitely be beneficial to use all your sense when photographing.

Wikipedia is indeed a treasure trove. Some people have lost the enthusiasm to learn because they think the information can be found whenever they want by googling it, but this on the other hand doesn’t allow us to carry that knowledge with us and apply it when necessary wether it would be in an interesting conversation or in a practical matter.

Like they say knowledge is power :)
