There's this place that just opened at Central Embassy, one of the most high-end department stores in Bangkok, and is located on Ploenchit Road. As an arts/creative student, I always would like to find a place to sit and work outside my home. Usually, this results in the nearest Starbucks.
But I went to this place and I'd say I'm enamoured. The atmosphere (decoration), really simulates your creativeness and makes you work with focus. It's also decorated really artistically, minimal wood styles with very nice furniture. It also has a ton of books - which you can read for free! Moreover, the breadwinner is food. There are a few food shops (actual dining-like restaurants) are located here, with open central space. The concept here is that you can sit down, order food, work, go look at some books, come back and work, and the restaurant wouldn't kick you out. Usually, when I sit at cafes for long periods, I starve. So I think this is a great idea, and would come back more often.
I also went to a nearby newly built condominium called Noble Ploenchit (right next to Central Embassy). I was there for project research. It's a high end condominium for buyers and (mostly) investors. I had a lot of fun researching about it, and getting to see the real thing was a really good experience. Though what was funny is that compared to the photos and advertisements they put out, the real thing doesn't even live up close to it - which really, isn't that surprising.
Noble Ploenchit's main selling points is the private lift, taking you to your unit, an urban oasis, which is lots of green space in the condo area, a prestige fitness and swimming pool, and a sky roof, seeing most of Bangkok.
