How would one go about "checking into those"???
I would like to know what their original charter, or grant or
Agreement says we are to be provided included in the rent.
AHA oversees us; do they charge their residents an overall
Fee for water/sewer that is based on ALL the residents usage?
I think not.
I am very conservative with my use of fresh water, which to
Me is THE most precious resource on the planet. When I
See one of the other residents (who has been here from the
Beginning- 15 yrs) who is sort of the grounds keeper, using
The hose to "Rinse off the pollen" from the steps around
The complex... when there is a blower... it irks me that
I/we are being charged for such extravagance. I
have A rechargeable blower and he knows it, and knows he
Is welcome to use it.
I want to file a FOIA request, but I don't want to do that
Until I have another place to go.
I hate dishonesty and fraud.
This complex has two different websites, one claims
(Advertises? ) that the complex offers "non-emergency
Transport" (it does not) and even that they train US
As drivers (they do not)
The other website claims that there is a "Computer Lab
on site where our residents can get training to use
a computer" (There is not)
What does happen is that the owner will send
All the employees off to have lunch at Benehana (Japanese
Restaurant) or other nice eateries (that ain't cheap)

I don't know for sure what they have available, the website for the parent company is wesleywoods.org I do know they recieve some of their funding from a Methodist organization.
I guess I misunderstood what you were talking about.
Thanks for the referral. I think I actually did check
Into one such, but I thought it was administered
By the Rosalyn Carter Foundation. I'll look into
It asap.
Okay, the one I did check into was
Presley Woods
265 Kirkwood Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30317
They wouldn't even talk to me unless
My "case worker referred me"...
I don't have a case worker.
Thanks Matt. Glad to be in contact
With you; your email is in my contacts
Now. Keep in touch. Happy F's Day.
No, I was confused I thought you were talking about the WWSL properties.
You should be able to get the information from AHA, it should be public record, but the contracts are usually about an inch thick... Basically, every property that receives HUD or IRS section 42 tax credit funding will have a different contract. When creating the property all properties who are trying to startup bid for the funding.
The simplified version is they say they will provide x number of apartments with certain amenities and social programs for x dollars in funding for a certain number of years. Then HUD/IRS decide based on criteria they have set for that year which ones will get funding. They have "hot buttons" for each round of funding. Like 2 years ago for 202D(elderly housing) they had a real strong push for wellness and fitness programs. If you didn't have those things in your contract you had very little chance of getting approved.
It can get complicated especially if the property is over 15 to 20 years old, because they usually have renewed the contract which will have part of the terms from the old one and new items especially if they decide to do a rehab of the property.
