🎶 Open Mic Week 143 - My Top 5 Judges Selection 🎶

in #openmic5 years ago

Well guys here we are at week 143 and I have to say I struggled my ass off with the decision this week, there was quit a bit of last minute switching round - and it's all because you guys are just too bloody good!

While I have you attention though I need remind you all to add #palnet to your posts, I saw so many of our top placers this week not using it - what this means... your missing out on free crypto peeps.

Simply add #palnet as your second tag, after #openmic and boom you done, when your post pays out you get some free palcoin - along with your regular steem and SBD payouts, yep on top of what you already get!

It's super simple so why not start adding it to all your posts, this is not only an Open Mic thing - this is for all of your posts, I am always down with getting free crypto :D

Anyways without further delays, here is my top 5 selection for Open Mic week 143:

This week's top 5:

1st Place - @joseacabrerav - Pintura sobre tela

Ahhhh Jose you never cease to amaze me, you are so amazingly talented at such a young age - it's truly incredible and you always do the most phenomenal performances, I just love it so much.

Just when I think you can't shock me any more, you come and do another amazing performance of a kick ass original Jose creation - thank you so much again for being your awesome self.

Your playing is just brilliant, you know I can't fault a single thing about your performance - a great mixture of emotion and casual fun, you make it all look so easy man.

Then of course best until last, your voice as always is just perfection - you have this honey tone and texture, your voice is warm and inviting yet so emotional and controlled all at the same bloody time.

You're a legend man and I cannot ever convey the gift you give everyone by sharing it with the world, as always I can't wait for more <3

2nd Place - @danieldedosd2 - Con Te Partiró

Oh man you just kicked some serious ass, holy hell what a phenomenal performance - I feel so lucky to have been gifted with seeing and hearing it, you have so much skill it's incredible.

On one had it all looks so effortless, you just nail every single note and do it with such ease and grace - but as you are so bloody talented I wanted to note something, so please don't take any offence as your performance was impeccable.

I did however notice you slightly tense your throat on the higher notes, trust you can hit the note you know it just go and it will be so much easier to hit it and whats more it will be so much kinder to your throat muscles - I myself am guilty of this practice, but after forcing myself to relax hitting the note was so much easier.

It's more about making it as easy on you as possible really, it's a funny psychological trick we can use to help ourselves as singers - but as I said you just smashed that performance out of the park for me, thank you so much for entering and I truly can't wait to hear more <3

3rd Place - @vanne - A long trip

Well this was just beautiful in every sense of the word, the music perfectly accompanies the stunning vocals - what a great performance I just couldn't get enough.

So much emotion conveyed throughout your vocals, which were just brilliant - you were pitch perfect and displayed amazing control as well.

I don't think I'd seen an entry from you before, as I to have been away but what a brilliant introduction - what a fantastic job.

4th Place - @ jaredkhamanah - Besame - Rawayana

Jared wow man this is fantastic, I loved every single second of it - your voice has the stunning velvety quality I can't get enough of.

This song has such a fun and lighthearted fun feel to it, your vocals are absolutely brilliant - not to mention those killer harmonies, just breathtaking.

I can't praise this performance enough man, you absolutely killed it and I can't wait to hear more from you soon!

5th Place - @drewley - Your Song

Really nice rendition man, I absolutely adored the subtle little adaptations you added - like slightly shortening a phrase, or slightly altering the melody in certain sections, even a different inflection.

Just a really creative way of transforming a song to suit your wants and needs, singing this song live in public you've played it smart and added some flare without running the risk of running out of air.

All round lovely song, which you made your own and performed brilliantly - also loved the harmonies :D

Honourable Mentions:

@minuetoacademy - Padre Nuestro

This was absolutely stunning <3

@origen1618 - La Llave

Really fantastic group effort, may I suggest a mic (or sitting her closer to the cams mic) for the female singer though - when things are in full effect it can be hard to hear her, when you sing together she gives it more gusto and I can hear her better. But besides that it was a brilliant performance, everyone was perfectly on point - congrats!

@sanami - Esclavitud mental

I really enjoyed this performance, couldn't help but bop along with it :D

@organduo - Quasi lento in Eb Major

Such a beautiful yet haunting sound, loved it.

@contrabourdon - Rêverie (Sept Offrandes)

Wow this sounded so amazing, I was hooked and never really sure where it was going but it all worked so well - awesome stuff :D.

Master Shortlist:

@esthersanchez, @partitura, @edwardstobia, @carlosgu, @davidcentenor, @jubei333, @ricardomello, @hugo2395, @yusaymon.

As I said you guys just smashed it this week, so many kick ass entries - so new faces, some friendly familiar ones, all round a brilliant week my friends.

Until next time much love <3

I wanted to take a moment to ask all our amazing musicians and their fans to please support the witnesses that support Open Mic and YOU, if you have any witness votes available please consider lending your support to them - so they can continue to support you each and every week!

Open Mic's New Discord Server:

I'd like to officially welcome you all to the new Open Mic Discord server, we have been open a little while now - with many of you having already joined.

But it's still a little quiet and I blame myself partly (I didn't know the world of crazy would set in just after opening it up and I just haven't been there to engage with everyone properly or promptly), I hope to remedy this in the coming weeks and months.

In the meantime however, there are heaps of amazing musicians already on there - it's a tool and you guys need to use it to get full advantage.

Ask a question, request a collaboration the world is yours - hell even just go in there and play around listening to some tunes in the jukebox room!

I will be trying to make myself more available on the server as time continues, so feel free to drop by even just for a chat.

Again a big thanks to @soundlegion, @meno and @verbal-d for all they do as judges, please remember to go and check out their top five selections each week and to @luzcypher and @pfunk thank you so much for making all of this possible - until next week.
