Steemit Open Mic Week 136 @montycashmusic - I'm on a long narrow path

in #openmic6 years ago (edited)

I first heard this song in 2017 in a sema in Turkey where I played music for whirling dervishes.

If you'd like to listen to original music by my band Kelebek Evrimi you can find us on band camp here: http://kelebekevrimi.bandcamp.com

Check out my new project called 'Zen in a Nightclub', an initiative to encourage improvisation and purify the modern definition of music. First release due in June 2019. Go-to:

Thanks for listening!

Here is my adapted version of the lyrics (I consulted a Turkish speaking musician friend to make sure I didn't change the meaning):

I walk along a narrow path
I walk all day and I wander at night
I wav-er in m-y thoughts
I walk all day and I walk all night
I walk all day and I walk all night
I walk all night

From the very first time I entered this world
I began to walk even at my birth
I lived in a mansion with two doors
I walk all day and I walk all night
I walk all day and I walk all night
I walk all night

Considering deeply the spread of my path
I'd appeared as though i was far at first sight
But the road only takes a short time
though I walk all day and I walk all night
I walk all day and I walk all night
I walk all night

Veysel is amazed at the turn of events
He sometimes laughs, but sometimes weeps
Grateful to reach the journey's end
He walks all day, He walks all night
He walks all day, He walks all night
He walks all night
