Yesterday was my daughter Grace Jean's Birthday. She turned 5. I had a show at 1st Street Bar in Encinitas. She's in another state on a military base with her mother and Navy Guy #4.
It's hard to perform this song, as I'm frequently on the verge of crying. There. You've been warned.

Ah man this is a beautiful and sad song. It is hard to believe that there is anything worse in the world than keeping a parent who wants to be a part of their kids' life forceably apart. That this can happen in situations where there was no abuse / criminal behavior is mind blowing. Sending you all the love. I honestly don't know what I would do if this happened to me and I couldn't see or interact with my sons. Big hug
Yeah, that this is even possible is a condemnation of our entire civilization. It's so unfair to the kids.
