I didnt expect much of a reaction outside the classic:"oh you play the violin well." 😂
I guess music knows no borders when a Californian likes something like this. 😁
As long as you guys keep doing the competition ill be coming back. Im not one of those: "drop an entry, take the moneys and run".
I live by the long term philosophy:"take all the moneys and keep taking it"... 😂😂😂😂
But seriously, now that i figured out the basics of recording audio ill be dropping in regularly. Thx for the double compliment. 😊
Beautiful violin, Marica. I love the folk song too. I did not understand it but it felt like the song is calling out to someone/something and then having the determination to go running towards that someone.
Thanks for the translation. That's quite a sad tale :( They got a Romeo & Juliet thing going on.
But you are proven correct, even if I did not understand it, the music and feelings behind it are universal. Surely tugged my heart strings :)
Its even more sad considering the time it was written in 100-maybe even 200 years ago. The family dynamic was much more strict back then.
Even i didnt know what the lyrics were exactly before you asked. Haha. Their language is similar but not the same.
Thank you. 😁
Ill try to do more stuff like this if i get a good reaction from the community. Who knows? I have only seen a few violinists here. Maybe a demand exists. 😁
Wow, you are getting better by the minute. After Ederlezi it is no surprise you did this amazingly well too. I like the combo between Jovakna piece and the Pulp Fiction one, they fit perfectly. And yes, your Karan is great too :)
No, I never have, although maybe I should have considered it since my Dad was a song-writer. Hmm, I'll have to ponder that for a bit. Thanks @silentscreamer
I bet!! I got a $50 violin and expected to be able to pick it up easily after playing guitar and such. Not so, haha. So difficult, especially when the strings wont stay in tune for long enough to play one song..... (lesson learned: don't buy $50 violin. save up and get a decent one)
You are an inspiration! Can't wait to see more!
Yes its probably the hardest instrument to learn. If you have a good teacher you would need a few months just to learn to hold it properly.. Crazy stuff.😂
I used to teach at a school after graduation and i wanted to pull my hair out listening to that noise..
But thats the only way to learn. Dedication.
A 50 dollar violin. I dont want to know what that sounded like. 😂
no joke this was awesome omg! LOVED

This song reminded me of my gypsy days traveling endlessly around the world. Beautiful, rich melodies and passion. Can't wait to hear more.

Haha. You are very close. Heres a crude translation. You almost guessed it. 😁
Jovano, Jovanke,
You sit by the Vardar
Bleaching your white linen
Bleaching your white linen, my dear,.
Looking at the hills
Jovano, jovanke,
I'm waiting for you
to come to my home
And you don't come, my dear
My heart, Jovano.
Jovano, jovanke,
Your mother
won't let you go
to come to me
My heart, Jovano.

He will probably be joining us on Steemit soon. I already told him he has a nickname. 😁
Does he mind me calling him Karan? It is out of love 💚
Haha. No he laughed. 😁
I LOVE the violin! And your voice is beautiful too! Glad I checked it out :)
Glad to have you. Your poetry is lovely. Did you ever consider writing lyrics for songs? Poets make the best lyricists in my opinion. 😁
No, I never have, although maybe I should have considered it since my Dad was a song-writer. Hmm, I'll have to ponder that for a bit. Thanks @silentscreamer
Love your music.
This is beautiful! Great violin, vocals, guitar, and even a little surf music!

Singing is a talent but violin playing is 20 years of school and hard work.😁
