Very good entry @lucybanks. Please stay humble just the way you are. You have a lot of talent and can create good original material under time pressure. I too was thinking of this song concept with broken mirrors and take it into a dark twisting direction. I wasn't planning on entering the song competition but I still like to write songs to see what would happen but mine would be much darker than what you have shared here lol If I make it I'll share it and see what you and others think. What @basilmarples stated is true. Sometimes releasing negativity through creativity can purge and cleanse the mind of such inner turmoil subconsciously. I liked the way you approached this one, and the chord progressions are spot on.

Ah thank you @verbal-d, yeah I very much like that thought that I'd be cleansing the mind so I might just stick to it. I just find sad chord progressions so much more beautiful. Ive never been a huge fan of happy clappy pop music so this is far more my calling. Please do share your song with me, I'd love to be able to comment and see what you can do!
You're very welcome. You certainly can sing, that's without a doubt! I also find beauty in the sadness of darker more impacting chord progressions. They speak to the soul and allow our emotions to be easily expressed. So You almost hit my top 5 this week, I am sure you will do so in the near future. Yeah they're just a lot more beautiful to listen to for me, can't stay away from it. But I'm glad you agree. I always think that people might find my songs depressing because of it!

I have written some pretty depressing poems but have turned a few into songs as well. They do have a rare beauty unseen and under appreciated by many. And again, you're very welcome.
