First things first...
What is Thorblock?
Thorblock is a recently launched VeChain DApp, part of the Safe Haven’s product range. Its main goal is safely handling the remittance and accounting of contributors’ pooled funds specific to offerings within the VeChain ecosystem. It is one of the first applications with Arkane integration.
What is Arkane?
Arkane is a layer that translates blockchain into REST API. It is a part of Arkane Network, an open network for building DApps and a cross-chain wallet provider. Equipped with a powerful API, it allows developers to integrate Arkane functionality directly into their own apps. This allows businesses to bring blockchain capabilities into their products and services without limiting their possibilities by having to rely on third-party extensions.
How can ThorBlock leverage Arkane and vice versa?
The Arkane software layer is fully customizable and any one of the network’s tools can be leveraged by another. For example, Arkane supports Ethereum’s Truffle Suite, VeChain, and Safe Haven’s Thorblock. By making use of Arkane APIs, Safe Haven can produce DApps on the VeChainThor network much faster, making the life of everyone involved just a little bit easier.
Safe Haven’s and Arkane Network’s common goal is to make blockchain apps easier to use for a everyday users. To this end, users can sign up in ThorBlock with their social account. Then, Arkane will check if the user has a VeChain wallet. If not, a wallet can be created quickly and easily via the “automagical” wallet creation feature.
Additionally, app developers can use Arkane Network’s set of APIs to make blockchain transactions on VeChain available in their DApps. ThorBlock is one of the best examples of how a DApp’s interaction with the end user should look like.
But that’s not all. Arkane users can log into ThorBlock with their Arkane account, and in turn, ThorBlock users can log into Arkane using their ThorBlock account. Better yet, once a user is authenticated in ThorBlock, this authentication eliminates the need to log into Arkane altogether, via a Single Sign-On (SSO) feature. Should Safe Haven choose to continue to apply the same authentication method in their entire product range, this would allow their users to sign in only once in order to log in on all of the products. Of course, logging out would work the same way.
To give you an idea of the functionality Arkane provides for ThorBlock, here’s a little sneak peek:
Arkane can make life easier for both developers and investors, and improve business operations simply by making the process of blockchain apps creation and management a bit faster and less complicated and you no longer need to be an expert to jump on the blockchain bandwagon.
