Hey all, it's @ddrfr33k, coming at you with an update on OPG and how we're doing. What a week it's been! For having started this group only 9 days ago, we're doing really, really well! Currently, we have 85 members on discord, and 81 people following us on Steemit.
And not only that, but check this out! That's about as great of a start as we could hope for! Seriously, you guys are awesome. We didn't exactly announce this publicly, but that post (and this one) are set for 100% SP to power up our account. We're doing this because we want our group to have enough voting power to reward our members for their awesome content. Our goal is to build out our Steem Power as much as possible, before we even consider setting aside SBD for giveaways/prizes. And in the interest of full disclosure, I want to state for the record that we will NOT be transferring our funds to Bittrex or any other exchange like what happened in another certain group. The only exception might be to @blocktrades to purchase SP. Even then, don't bet on it. We're more likely to spend that SBD on our members.
You might have seen that we resteemed a few posts, gave out some upvotes, all that fun jazz. Those posts came from our members who shared the posts on our Discord. We love showcasing the awesome people who post, share and help our community grow.
And that leads me to my next point: delegation. Currently, we have a few very, very generous benefactors who believe in what we do, and delegate some of their Steem power to us. This is HUGE! This is what helps us give our members some awesome upvotes.
If you feel like donating, you can do a whole lot of good for us. I'll do up a separate post for delegation, and I'll be getting details out to the Discord group shortly thereafter. We don't really have any rewards for delegators (yet!), but plan to do something for the people that support us. But currently, we do need people to delegate to @opgaming. If that sounds like something you can do, even if it's only 10SP, It will be put to good use.
Finally, I want to discuss our roadmap. Where we are now, where we want to be in 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days. I plan to do these about once a month. Figure they'll be a good baseline of our overall group.
- Current goals: Increase membership, run the curation channel in Discord, generate artwork - We have a "Daily Curation Post" channel on the OPG discord. We want to share more posts, which means taking a more active role in watching our :gaming post promotion" channel to identify and support our awesome content creators. Going forward, the moderators and admins will continue to be active and help grow the group. In addition, we will be advertising the group, talking to people, and making ourselves known. We currently have a couple awesome artists working on logos, banners, and advertising materials for the group. Once they are ready, we will share them with the group.
- 30 day goals: Resurrect the weekly discussion post, seek out additional delegation - With a former group, we had a weekly discussion post that served as a great way for our members to network, share some awesome stories, and be part of something that helped the group grow, as well. We will continue that trend, once we have artwork to go with the posts. We will be working with other avenues to seek out additional delegation for the OPG group.
- 90+ day goals: Grow group, hire additional moderators, establish curation digest - As the group grows, we will need additional leadership. We will be looking to the members to fill out the moderator ranks. Those that show initiative, go above and beyond to support their fellow members, they'll be the ones we look at first. With more moderators working on curation, we'll be able to switch to a curation digest in the same vein as @buildawhale. With that, we'll be able to shine a spotlight on the best of the best, while still helping everyone else along the way.

You should never choose 100% powerup as long as SBD is above 1 USD.
I second that, %100 powerup these days seems like an attempt to lose money. The correct way:
That does make sense, but isn't it better to choose 100% SBD these days? As of now, Steem Dollars are worth around $1.85
You can't... For the system to work people must gain SP so the developers made the lowest amount you get as SP from the post %50, and you can change it to %100 if you need.
SP is what makes SBD and STEEM valuable, the more people have SP and don't power down, the more value the other two currencies should have. (I say should because now, the prices move according to market rather than the quality of the blockchain.)
Oh man, I'm sorry. I have always been using 100% Power Up and didn't notice there was no option for 100% SBD. Thanks for sharing your advice, from now on I'm going for 50% SBD/Power split.

I'm glad I'm one of the +80 people there, I need to be more active in Discord groups though. Glad you're taking all the failures of rhe previous group in consideration.
Glad to see we're getting ourselves grounded. We'll keep growing steadily with delegations, our daily curations and once we incorporate the weekly posts, we¿ll do even better. I'm glad to be here helping out <3
