This was a great op, you guys! Well done! I bet those hugs and conversation warmed them just as much as the food. There's a campaign called Just Say Hello because so often, people either a) don't have money or b) don't want to give money, and they presume they'll be asked, so they don't even make eye contact with homeless folks. So they're treated like ghosts and not even treated with that basic human kindness. I don't always have money but usually I will purposefully say hello since I realized that. Sometimes you can see how bright their smile is just from that. I bet hugs and genuine conversation were a huge blessing!
