Steemit is looking to sponsor/hire Community Managers in major cities - I need to draft a job description that could be posted on Craigslist and other job boards. What are some requirements we should look for? Or what would you post to draw interest from a crypto currency enthusiast? Their role will include, but not be limited to, representing Steem and Steemit at cryptocurrency and social media events, hosting meetups and participating in online discussion.

Well, if you are looking for a community manager for a new blockchain project, it needs to be someone with a proven record of participation in different bitcoin or cryptocurrency social websites. For instance, the candidate could provide their bitcointalk, reddit or bitsharestalk username.
If the future Community Manager of Steem has a good reputation in the "bitcoin community" then it is more likely that people will listen to him and attend the meetups. If you can take a look at their social accounts you could also filter out people who have been involved in scammy projects that could potentially hurt steem`s reputation.
I think Crypto enthusiasts will be more than happy to work for a blockchain start-up, best thing is to offer part of their wage in vested steem and part in SBD, this way you make sure the person understands how to use the technology but you can also offer them a promise of future value, if they believe in the project they can expect steem to be worth more in the future hence making the job offer more attractive.
Good Luck,
P.S. if you need someone in Buenos Aires I can recommend a few well respected community members.
Thanks hcf27. If any of the Argentinian community may be interested in Steemit, I would be excited to speak with them, particularly if they are familiar with virtual currency and are entrepreneurially minded.
Sure, do you have an email where we can reach you?

I'm in Los Angeles.
Color me interested in the role of Community Manager.
I'm currently based in Minneapolis, and willing to travel for the cause!
I'll drop you a line via email Ned. Cheers!
I'm definitely interested in learning more about this position. Have you completed the job description yet and if so, what's the link?
I would definitely suggest community manager for @expanse, James Clayton (@cryptoclub)
Never encountered a more reasonable mod/community manager who is genuinely passionate about people.
I dibs South Africa, and even the surrounds if necessary! I already travel to most of it.
hey ned, is this still a need?
Some from a well-connected city line Singapore - AKA me.:-)
Seriously, the Community Manager need to think business and relate to the community he/she is fostering.
I am new to crypto, but I have a background in engineering and lots of experience in writing and sales. Give me a task and I'll learn fast and get it done. Let me know if you need someone to represent you in Dallas, Texas.
Hey, what's the update with this post?
Requirements? Eagerness! :)
Hi Ned,
Me and my sister are interested in being community managers for Switzerland. Is the opportunity still available?

Are community managers still desired?
I am really sad that my country is so behind with everything. We only heard about this couple of days ago and my friend has been on steemit for couple of months . I wish we could help in growing this awareness in our country . We are from Serbia. As for what you should look for ,I think the best quality is dedication to this , also creativity and curiosity . Good communication and people skills , will to explain and explore and a lot more :) Oh and btw @ned thank you for this community :)
