Microsoft and Oracle have announced interoperability between Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud in order to simplify the implementation and integration of various cloud products and to provide distinct and complementary products. This fresh arrangement now enables businesses to use services in a unified way on both platforms.
Together, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud have announced the launch of a cooperation to enable both companies ' clients to move and handle their workloads between the two platforms. For example, together with the Oracle Autonomous Database, Azure Analytics and Artificial Intelligence can be used.
By using the instruments on both platforms, clients can choose the ones best suited to their requirements and get the services and apps they need in a simpler and unified manner.
The two platforms are interconnected on two levels: on the one side, the network link, which enables information to move from Azure to Oracle Cloud and vice versa; on the other side, authentication, which enables Azure Active Directory services to access Oracle services with suitable identification controls and access privileges.
This combination also enables the use of different Oracle application packages (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Oracle Retail, People Soft, Hyperion and E-Business Suite) in Azure's Oracle Cloud server (RAC, Exadata, Autonomous Database).
The two businesses also say the assistance will be cooperative and by exploiting current interactions and procedures it will be feasible to introduce the new characteristics.
The link currently exists only between the Azure U.S. East and Ashburn data centers in the U.S.; both businesses plan to extend this link in the future to other areas. It continues, however, an interesting indication of the cloud world's evolution, which appears destined to become much more interconnected and interoperable than it had previously seemed.

Don Johnson, Executive Vice President of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Division, said that "Oracle and Microsoft have been involved in the enterprise sector for centuries. With this collaboration, our prevalent clients will be able to move their entire collection of current apps to the cloud without having to interfere in any manner with the architecture, thus maintaining their important investments.
