hello friends of steemit, this time I want to talk about the orchids and my touching experience...
They are in most of the universe, except in regions of desert or polar climate, they are especially abundant in the intertropical zone, where most of the most showy flower species grow.
They were discovered and appreciated by humans since antiquity. The Chinese in ancient times refer to the cultivation of orchids. In ancient Greece it was attributed healing and aphrodisiac properties. The Aztecs used an orchid vanilla, to enrich a thick drink made from cocoa.
españolThe seeds of the orchids are very small and those found in a single fruit can generate thousands of new plants, each with different characteristics from the other. However, the seeds contain few reserves and can not germinate with their own resources. In fact, in nature they must be associated with a fungus during germination, which provides the nutrients it requires for its growth and development. For this reason, the simplest and least efficient way to multiply orchids through seeds is to spread the seeds on and around the roots of orchids grown in a pot and ensure that they have constant moisture in the substrate. The seeds germinate in a few weeks and grow slowly, so that a plant obtained in this way blooms for the first time when it reaches approximately five to ten years.
Your care
Light, but not direct sun, the temperature between 18 and 25 ° C., Never lower than 16 ° C. Otherwise he would die.
Watering should be once a week, place the pot on a plate and fill it with water, then you have to remove it, otherwise the roots will rot.
It is paid once a month, following the same instructions as for irrigation, that is, you dilute the fertilizer in the water of the dish and after a while when it has absorbed all the moisture it needs, and remove it.
To achieve a greater and better flowering: when the flowers dry, it is necessary to cut above the third bud (node), and in a few months it will sprout again with more vigor.
The pot, as in all the plants, is changed when the roots begin to appear underneath, that is a sign that there is no more land, no place for the roots.
I personally consider it a very interesting silver, not only for its beauty, but also for what can be obtained from it for its medicinal properties, notwithstanding the vanilla. I have a grandmother who has one of these plants in the garden of her house and she really had the dedication to take care of it and the patience to make it bloom. I think it is beautiful, apart from being eighty years old and hoping to see its bush flourish without her or the orchid dying before. That experience moved me a lot. Here I leave an image of their beautiful orchids.
I hope you like it, regards... ☺️
