Trump flirting for a low rate viewing ceremony # Oscar
US President Donald Trump, on Twitter # 1, has been joking about the 90th Academy Awards, compared to last year.
According to Nielsen statistics, this year's event saw 26.5 million viewers around the world, a 20 percent drop from last year's show, which was seen by 33 million viewers, according to the Associated Press.
"The Oscars this year have the lowest viewing level in their history, and I think the problem behind this is that we did not have stars, except for your boss, I'm joking, of course," Trump said.
The 90th Oscars were held Sunday (March 4th) at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
Donald Trump, some of his policies, including immigrants, and the resignation of Hicks from her White House post were attacked by the ceremony as director of communications.
The fictional romantic film "The Chip of Water" won the best film awards, the Oscar for best film.
The film director Guillermo del Toro also won the Best Director award, defeating the hopes of winning a black director or director of the award.
The "She's of Water" revolves around a dark cleaner who falls in love with a strange aquatic creature, raising the issue of abuse of vulnerable groups.
The film, produced by Fox Searchlight, won the highest number of Oscar nominations this year, with 13 nominations, and won four Oscars.
