@xtimartistx asked me to do a drawing of soldier 76 from the video game overwatch. I've never played overwatch much less drawn any of the characters.
This is around 10 minutes into the drawing. I've roughed out the characters shape and figured out the perspective on Soldier 76's gun. I used various references for the character from the game and character sheet.
Around 20 minutes into the drawing. I started to rough in the costume and some anatomical features. Even though 99% of whats drawn now will be erased I ALWAYS make sure I have a good structure to work with.
Up to the 30 minute mark. I finished roughing in the costume, roughed in the hair checking back to my reference periodically to ensure its accurate. Once I was happy with the lines I already laid down I grab my trusty kneaded eraser and get rid of all the unnecessary lines. That's why this scan is much lighter than the last.
40ish minutes, I've sharpened my pencil and begin to tighten up my lines. Every line I put down i"m thinking of the light source so I can vary the weights as I go.
Working my way down the page so I don't smear any of the graphite. Still rendering and putting in the spotted blacks as I go. Hopefully this piece turns out good. We will see.
A little bit farther along now. Continue to add the spotted blacks, varying the line weights and doing some rendering.
Here is the finished pencils for now. On to the inks and colors.
Hope you enjoyed
awesome as always
