At such times when efforts are being made to eliminate misconceptions related to periods in the country, the Maharashtra government is introducing 'Asmita Yojana' for providing sanitary napkins at girls and rural women in the state at cheap rates.
The Government of Maharashtra will make available the sanitary pad at affordable rates next month from International Women's Day, March 8 under this scheme girl students of Zilla Parishad schools will get sanitary napkins for five rupees per packet whereas women in rural areas will be available at rates of 24 and 29 rupees per packet.
An official of the Rural Development Ministry said that this scheme will be formally launched on March 8 for women and rural women. this is launched by akshay kumar
