What are Kratom Leaves?
Kratom is a tropical tree native to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea, where the leaves have been used for medicinal purposes due to its morphine-like effects. The majority of the health benefits of kratom are derived from the unique chemical compounds and nutrients found within the leaves of the plant, including a wide range of alkaloids and other organic substances that affect many organs of the human body. Mitragynine, the primary active alkaloid in kratom, is associated with being responsible for its opioid-like effects.

My husband and I were both heavy opiate users. We got them prescribed to us for neck and back injuries that both of us had from prior accidents and wear and tear. Mine was a herniated disk in the lumbar spine from being thrown from a spooked horse and my husband's were herniated in cervical and lumbar from many years of factory work and degenerative disc disease runs in his family. So anyway, years down the road, our tolerance to the meds of course gets higher and higher, so we have to take more pills to get the same relief and that means they run out faster every month until you get to the point where your meds might last 8-10 days and you're going through terrible withdrawals for the rest of the month until you get that next prescription. We were so tired of living this way but couldn't do it cold turkey. Finally, we found out about kratom. We were dubious at first because come on, some powdered leaf is gonna help oxycontin withdrawals? But it worked!! We just could not believe how much it helped with the withdrawals, while also giving you the little extra energy and anxiety relief you might need after feeling like you've been chained to a pill bottle for the last 8 years. I cannot stress enough how well kratom works and I'm urging some of my friends to try it as well because they've had problems with pain pill addiction in the past. When they sought help for it though, of course they were given suboxone/subutex, but that's just another addictive substance. I've told them several times that kratom will do them just as good, if not better, than the subs (and I speak from personal experience as I've had both) and I finally got one to agree to try it after promising to buy her first bag. Let's hope all goes well and we'll have one less person reliant on opiates in the near future.
