Way of Life
The artist was born in 1872 in Feodosia. His father was a small waiter from the city government.

Kostya loves to paint from the age of 7 years. The boy from childhood did not scare the trouble: he worked every day, learning the different shapes and ways of drawing.

The first drawing lesson was taken from Adolf Fessler, in the studio Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky. Then he entered the Art Academy, where his teacher was Arkhip Kuindzhi.

At the age of 18 several times I went to sketch for my work on Volga. And seven years later he began traveling with Kuindzhi and his colleagues from the Academies in Germany, France and Austria, where he became acquainted with European art.

Special effects on the work of Bogaevsky are given by Vienna artists from Secession and Swiss painter Arnold Beklin. Later, while in Italy, Constantine was also fascinated by the writing techniques of Claude Lorrain and Andrea Montaigny.

The exhibition of his paintings at the artist's exhibition decided at the age of 28 in St. Petersburg. Quickly getting into my taste, I started trying to be showcased in other cities: in Moscow, Venice, Munich, and Paris. Four years later he joined the New Society of Artists at St. Petersburg.

At age 34, Bogayevsky is married, but his children have no children. Since then he has only worked in his own studio in Feodosia, continuing his journey and taking part in several exhibitions. Soon, thanks to the painters, he adds historical themes to the landscape.

A few years later he was elected as a member of the Moscow Artists Association and illustrated the book of famous poet Maximilian Voloshin "Years of Travels." The popularity of Bogaevsky grows rapidly both in Russia and abroad. Three of his most famous works are done artists in Moscow for the big house Zinaida Morozova.

In the last years of his life, Constantine received the honorary Artist of the RSFSR. He died in 1943 with the bombing of Feodosia by German flights.

Creativity Features
The early period of Bagaevsky's work is mainly marked by a dark color palette. He describes tragic land, old ruins or earthen beams, where something like something creepy is hidden.

Artist's artistic perception changed in the period of marriage. His paintings are increasingly filled with peaceful and prayerful moods due to the dilution of their light tones. The majestic mountains, fields, and creases of the hills began to fascinate the sun.

Bagaevsky feel and understand the unique beauty of his place of origin. At the same time he also tried to create his own "history" of archeology.

Artist colors changed again after another trip to Italy. Filled with the impression of the canvas of the Italian masters, Bagaevsky gives freedom to his thoughts, dreams, and fantasies.
