A karahi is a type of thick, circular, and deep cooking-pot that originated in the South Asia. It is the dish of Pakistan that is loved by every one in Pakistan. Traditionally made out of cast iron, karahi look like woks with steeper sides.
This version of Chicken Karahi is mostly made at roadside shacks (dhaba) in Pakistan and it is truly yummy. Its unique and really tasty. Ingredients:
- 1 whole Chicken.
- 4 tomatoes.
- 6-7 Garlic.
- 1/2 Ginger.
- 2 green chili.
- Fresh cilantro.
- Oil.
Spices:
- 1 tablespoon Salt.
- 1 tablespoon Paprika.
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seed.
- 1 teaspoon crushed black pepper.
Recipe:
Add oil to a pan. Add chicken to the pan and fry until its brown. Once the chicken is light brown add the garlic/ginger paste and fry for 5 more minutes. Add tomatoes and cover the pan and cook for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Once the tomatoes are cooked add the spices. Now cook for another 10 minutes. Add had the green chili and cook for 5 minutes. Once the oil comes out add the garnish and cover the pan for 5 minutes. Enjoy.
