That double-dip tip is a good one! Not sure if you knew already, but earning PAL is possible even without doing the upvotes through the PAL interface. As long as the post has #palnet tag, any vote with Steem Power - as long as you have PAL staked - will also use Pal Power.
Convenient.
Staked mine already, 612 that I got from the claimdrop, and now I'll be earning PALs without even needing to change my Steem behavior much at all. I don't think I'll be buying any, I will just keep what I already have, staked, and see how it turns out on the long run.
I do try to limit the time I spend gaming. Steem has the game feel, and the potential to improve your real life too. Priorities, priorities.
It's a bit of a weird thing, but I rarely even want to play any games anymore. They just seem to not do much for me anymore. An exception to this is when playing with friends, but to play by myself I would have to kinda force myself, which would be just weird, hence I can't really bother.
I'll just keep playing on Steem, since it has proven to have a fundamentally positive impact on my life.

Convenient, yes :)
Perhaps not so convenient with this 1 'free' downvote PAL is offering, as that is not going to be free as far as VP on Steem I assume.
Can't argue with that. I wasted too much time on a PC on things with no real life improvement value - not this time. PAL and Steem on :D
It's not free on Steem, no. But the idea is that people will realize that all of the curation that they do, up or down, on Steem or other layers, can all be displayed in any number of ways to look totally different from interface to interface. Anything that gets people thinking about curating again, or trying out new behaviours, or even just making the idea of downvoting a little bit more normalized is a win~
Thanks for the clarification Crimmy :)
Amen to that!
If the EIP goes with 2 or 3 'free' flags for Steem, are you guys likely to match what is decided there?
Thanks for the replies to fullcoverbetting above too, pretty cool that you have policies in place for the mods. Go PAL go! :D
Honestly not sure, but I doubt it. Any changes we make (and there will absolutely be some, it's like a daily data collection thing these days, lol) will be based on the PAL ecosystem and Steem is gonna steem. With trending and promoted potentially looking better and with a portion of earning tokens able to be done without "on-chain action" per-se, downvotes are important but may also be not as necessary. Orrrrr I could be hugely wrong and we decouple them from SP (which is a potential for PAL in general, code and evolution dependent) and give many. We have guiding goals, but we're open to the best ways we can figure out to get there, and that doesn't mean lockstep with Steem.
Alright :)
I have a feeling that DV's might not be as necessary, but your daily data collection will likely show this.
It certainly doesn't :)
