I think this is the right step forward, if the mods will truly follow the rules to heart and only try to think what's best for the whole network in long term! I always thought the main issue of Steem was the initial distribution and whales that do not engage with the community or do their job. If they'd only focused on growing the network for the first 2-3 years instead of their own wallets, who knows where Steem would be today. Far ahead for sure community wise!
It's also interesting to see if this "tribes" thing will catch on, I do like the idea and hope it does! This could change the internet, but it's a moonshot :)
We have some code changes coming to help us out, as well as some special accounts to do so. I think it's a unique problem to have, and a good one for us to show how we plan to solve openly. I also am pretty excited because it does really allow us to spread the PAL around. I don't think we're the perfect answer, but I do think we're a missing piece in the evolution of Steem, or tools that help people to think more critically about Steem, even as it's us constantly evolving ourselves.
Good for you, I've always thought that Steem is more like a stock company than any other blockchain due to its distribution of stake via daily voting; Meaning that the value comes from those who actually are holding the SP, for that reason it's vital that we get the best people out there into positions, where they can do the most good. That's why I asked about your plans for bidbots, because I believe it's a crucial part of this network exceeding and actually attracting normal Joes and Lauras from the world. We need to be received as a fair and somewhat just platform.
Steem failed to do that MISERABLY. And I love how Bernie is finally out of the picture, and few others...
What a bad idea to give huge power in a social platform to a very early crypto miners.
As I was saying on the weekend, there's no doubt we'll have missteps, but I think the big thing is we're here, we're open and accountable, and we give a shit. These things all together I truly believe matter. We've been learning for years on the current system. This gives us a chance to test some of our hypotheses... and hopefully bring a few more people along for the ride.
Yes, those are the necessary, foundational parts to build upon, when it comes to long term success, and ones that will actually want other good hearted people to be part of your project and dare I say, movement even. Lead by example fits perfectly here since one bad apple spoils the bunch, it's vital that good examples are set by the leading personas here.
And yes, it's Igster here, this is my curation account for Palnet.
