Our very own Wilfried Zaha is holding face-to-face talks with Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson after being told that he will not be allowed to move abroad, writes Giuseppe Muro.
Yesterday, he was left devastated after his hopes of joining Everton were dashed, but i know he is prepared to move to a foreign club. Knowing that the transfer window remains open for the major European leagues until September 2.
Also, Hodgson admitted on thursday that there was so call beef between Zaha and Palace chairman known as Steve Parish and the 26-year-old is unsettled at Selhurst Park.
Also this our Borussia Dortmund has shown interest in the past and Napoli looked at him this summer, although the Italian side have switched their focus to PSV winger Hirving Lozano.
I know quiet well that Palace would not sanction a move, even if a club meets their £80million valuation, as they could not now sign a replacement, but aware Zaha could again push for a move in coming January, when he will be an attractive option for Champions League clubs because he will not be cup-tied in Europe.
This one that chelsea are also monitoring his situation and can even make an offer for him when their two-window Fifa transfer ban ends.
The focus of Zaha for now must be on playing for Palace again, knowing that he did not train with the first-team squad on thursday and was sent home by Hodgson after a short gym exercise because he was not in the right frame of mind.
Zaha was to return to training on Friday, although it is uncertain he will be involved when Palace play Everton on Saturday. He just recently returned to the club after playing for Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of nation and it seems that Hodgson has been preparing the team this week without him in mind.
Hodgson, who also will be celebrating his 72nd birthday on Friday, will be holding talks with Zaha as he looks to manage a delicate situation and reintegrate an unhappy player into his squad.
Zaha also submitted a transfer request to force his way out of Palace but Everton did not make a formal offer on deadline day, signing Alex Iwobi from Arsenal for £34m instead.
This relationship between Zaha and Parish seems deteriorated over the summer and the player feels he has been priced out of a move.
Hodgson of Palace yesterday said to Sky Sports that His beef is with the chairman and owners of the club because he has wanted to leave but they have not received the offer that they think is sufficient to allow him to leave.
“He needs to come to terms with that. Because when you sign long-term contracts you are expected to honour them. Hopefully, he will come to terms with the fact he has got another season with Crystal Palace.”
This Zaha situation is like a major disruption for Palace but they quickly need him to refocus because he is again set to be crucial to their chances of staying in the Premier League.
I will advice Zaha to just be patience and wait for January transfer window , more better team will surely come for him to join their club. Let him be focus and maintain his performance and ability
Its a good advice but sometimes it might be regretable decision
Exactly but he is in haste of leaving
My thought about him was that sometimes if player was at his peak that was the best time for his current club to sell him
In some cases if such player wait a bit he might loses his worth value as well as kind of club that will approach him
