RE: Out of ideas

I can't even remember the last time a completely original script was a blockbuster.

There is a certain sense to it though. Old stories have established audiences and are much less risky from a financial point of view.

There is also a theory that the current spate of superhero movies being commercially successful come from a general feeling of powerlessness. The movies allow those people to vicariously gain the feeling of power in their own lives. I think there is something to that.

But yes, Hollywoo is out of ideas for the big screen.
