This is true. This is why I have incessantly pointed out that attempting to tweak mechanisms of profiteering in vain hope of enabling building value in Steem is counterproductive. The essence of incentive is simple: enable profiteering, and stake seeking ROI will follow. Enable investors to build value in the investment vehicle will create capital gains, and investors will follow.
Steem has fallen consistently in market cap for real financial reasons. Propaganda is irrelevant and real world effects follow real world mechanisms. It is simplicity at it's core: investors seek capital gains, profiteers seek to extract value from the business. All of the problems Steem has experienced are sourced from this dichotomy between profiteering and investment. All profit is not equal. Capital gains FTW.
